To reach the top you have to be one of them to get there, the young guys and gals that went into that institution with high hopes, those that stood by those dreams, remained Guards with dreams shattered.

I have a few friends who joined in the last few years and cannot stand some of the older members. You had the recent revelation that a victim of sexual abuse contacted the guards to report a priest and the gaurds charged the victim with blackmail. These gaurds are gone but no charges will be brought against them and they will receive full pension.

That is life in this sick and sorry corrupt statlet. Do not get upset about it, it is part of life in every institution in this state.

What is bewildering is that you mention this stuff to people and their response is "What do you have against the gaurds ect ect".

The protection and lack of discipline of guards involved in covering up sex abuse and other corruption.

You have people born in this statlet Deaf and Blind, who have vastly more intelligence than the clowns that have sight and hearing and do not see or hear a thing. But will grovel after some suit that shakes their hand at election time.

Ps I hope my reference to the disabled is not taken up wrong.

"It is claimed the off-duty garda abused the PSNI officers in Irish and called them "Orange c***s"."

I'd love to know what that is in Irish, Orange is Oraiste but what about the rest?

    Gabhal / Gowl?

I blame Michael mc dowell and the lack of proper vetting. some of these guys didn't even have a farther, brother or uncle in the force. they may have even let some f.f types in.

What are you on about, you wont get in UNLESS you're a FF type.

Had the guard had his oats that morning? Or was he off his oats? Or wearing his hat?
    Or something stupid like that.

The old gaurds were recently described as putting loyalty before honesty and that's the best way to sum a lot of them up imo.
I'll give the garda force about fifty years for it to become clean if not more.

I think you are being far too optimistic and positive about this. Far too optimistic and positive!

The PSNI always find something to moan about.

    "...youths won't listen to us"

    "garda keep calling us names"

"republicans won't stop trying to kill us" wha wha wha.
