We had to ballast two shed corners and the middle of another with truck tyres. One light sheet gone in the middle of shed roof in an inaccessible spot so will have to wait until wind dies down. We were planning to just milk and feed milkers and go for grub but wind dropped so we just battened down what we could. Wind rising here again now.

Just in from morning round! Fields flooded, few light(ish) bits of trees down, nothing major. Had to batten down covering on a trailer. Cattle all lying in shed - they can come and go as they please - but today they please to stay put.

What a bitch , will it have to be left till after the wind dies ? Or could you horse it in with a loader

    got to bed about 2.30

was fair scary , luckily tree wasn't too big had a tractor and bale handler on the out farm and took it out in 6 foot lengths

power went just as I got home and was out for 7 hours

no damage thankfully other than a few bale wraps blown about

getting stormy again now hopefully it will blow it self out

Just home, had to go to the Chemist in Clifden. Nothing out of place on that journey, no damage on the farm. Power stayed on all through.

Awake for a lot of the night, electric power went at about 3am but back this morning. 5 big chunks of tress down around the farm. Will be busy with the saw for a while. No major damage though, Thank God. Water still off and will be for a while I reckon.

I got a couple down during last spring as every night it was windy I worried about them. Apart from 1 or 2 in the middle of fields nothing should fall near a road/building for a long time now, it gives a mind great ease.

is always the way, the ones next the shed or road will fall down and the ones in an empty field will stay up

wind has calmed down, went out and fixed slate on porch and myself and my da got up on cubicle shed roof and hammered down a few sheets, bitter cold out, all set for the next storm now, whenever that is:D

The last 21 hrs has being well dangerous. We were working late last night and again early today and it was some of the worst conditions I have seen in a long long time.

Had a truck in from carlow and they said its grand up there compared to here. tipping the bulker wasnt for the faint hearted with the wind:eek:

The whitewash was actually washed off one of the shed walls here today and another supposedly dry bed shed has 6 inches of water in it.

he is a good jockey if its him, as I made him go around the back into a right tight spot.
He had to pull out on time - as he had to be at the docks for 12

    never taught of that

If you tipped silage in some of the ****holes of yards I used to be in when I was a young lad you would never forget putting the loader against the trailer trick !

Storm blew in a loft door last night, so wind got into loft and blew out a few slates. Didn't try to fix today given conditions. Job for tomorrow.
