Dude on the news says that he's never seen 100km winds in waterford in the last 10 years. We've had several nights with 100km in the last 2 week's. They don't know how good they have it!

It didnt look too bad where he was standing either , you would think he would be lying into the wind or holding onto a lamppost if the wind was that strong !

It's the calm before the storm here. Strong wind just settled in the last few mins.

Wexford getting battered, not much rain to be honest but plenty of severe gusts.

    Lights are dipping too!

I'm going sleeping in the bath tub with the mattress on top. First though I'll have to pull the plug and empty it of the electricity we've saved up for a power cut.

Started to get wild here from about 7 but I think the worst has passed. Starting to calm a bit. Gonna go lamping

Calmed down here too in North East Donegal, has the worst passed by or is it the calm before the storm? Was watching The Day After Tomorrow last night and now that film will be on my mind all night.

Starting to blow a bit here. If things are right in the morning will go down the beach with the camera, hopefully the tide will be out, waves are bigger then.

Very windy at the min, some noise from the trees as the wind blows through them. The storm doesn't seem to be fully going yet either according to the earth wind maps

You may stay in the bed, still windy as any other bad day here maybe worse. The real intense storm has abated a bit.

Just seen the bin men out fair play stay safe men.No let up in wind here

    What a night of it.
And no real ease up either. Have a section of gutter outside bedroom window that rattles and it drove me mad all night.
Was up at 3am looking for ear plugs from when I used to work nights.

Funny. The wind never seems as bad once it gets bright.

Just getting up now. Will see what damage was done. Got a few community alert texts of trees down

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,262 ✭✭✭Farrell

Seams quite bad here, roads are probably lethal with ice still in places & now gusts with fallen branchs / trees, be careful out there

    Trampoline in ****e:mad:

1 slate off roof of porch. 1 piece of sheeting gone off end of shed that's all so far

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,190 ✭✭✭jersey101

Old window in one of the sheds is gone. Glass every where and a sheet of perspex we put up on the front of a shed but never finished properly is shattered in pieces...

Just up now, still dying from this bug. It peaked here about half one last night and started to peter out from there. Haven't been anywhere yet to see if anything happened. Not going to the beach as the storm is gone, so no point. Not a power outage West of Galway city going on the ESB map.
