The look on his face when you attempt to sodomise him with a credit card...

    Priceless.

Ah humorous emails from 2006, how I miss you.

I can never seem to bulk without getting a bit of a spare tyre at the same time, and conversely when I cut, my hard won guns seem to always be the first things to go instead of the aforementioned wobbly bits :(

If you go on a diet or don't eat enough, your body prefers to burn of muscle instead of fat for nutrients. Having muscle is also nutritionally expensive so you have to eat alot of protein. Protein fills you up quickly too so you so eat less carbs and other fattening things.

IMO George St Pierre has the perfect physique. The result of a lot of different types of training from martial arts to gymnastics.

"This was in his body building phase...the phrase had...a huge success all over the world".

I'd more worry about the extra help chemical wise and the oft serious hormonal fallout from that. Never mind liver and heart damage among other things. Unless someone is a vanishingly rare freak of nature that level of musculature is not natural. Now they have to put in Herculean levels of hard work, diet and sheer willpower to get to that, but the "additives" are required. Google bodybuilders before steriods came along. Some impressive physiques I grant you, but watch how they seriously balloon in bulk in the 70's.

If I wasn't a lazy bastard and scrawny with it. Old too. What physique would I like to have? IMHO Leo DaVinci got it right all those centuries ago Vitruvian man. Apparently that's a selfie too. Fair play Leo, given he'd have been around 40 at the time.

What I find interesting about that and other male ideals going waaaaay back is that in Europe at least the ideal for men doesn't vary much at all. Whereas the ideal for women can vary a lot. I mean if Daniel Craig came outa the surf with Leos bod it would be on a lot of ladies(and mens) "ohhhh I so would". list.

    :(

I love a muscly man ... As much definition the better, defined pecs, biceps, good arms and a lovely back.

I'm fascinated by body builders .. The mr. Olympic type, but I prefer the fitness model bodybuilding from a sexual stand point.

This pic shows the difference, I would prefer the middle group over the others.

Well... with bodybuilding, I was under the impression it was more about muscle definition and balance of appearence, its not primarily a strength/ fitness competition.

I dont see how crossfit can make such a claim.

    What you mean??
I'd consider him extremely fit considering the events he does.

But to be the fittest is an outlandish claim. That the only people who come close are other crossfitters, regardless of what fitness regimes other people follow.

the bodybuilders are so over the top its not even funny....I do have more respect for the non steroid abusers. always good to see a healthy bloke just live a fit healthy life and not go over the top either way.

For me, I like the top row the best. I've never been into the body building look. It's too bulky for my tastes. I'd say male gymnasts have great bodies - good muscles, but not too bulky because they have to have agility and flexibility as well and most don't lift weights. I also think swimmers have great bodies. I like lean muscles, I guess.

That's not really about how fit he is, though. That's more about him being up his own ass.

...yeh cause he's up his own ass. Not because he's too fit.

I think again it comes back to defining what people think 'too fit' is.

dont worry about it, I didnt even read the thread, let it be said I haven't seen a mans noodle in many a year. A fit guy (I suspect by fit they mean hawt) would mean fug all to me.

When he can do the ring of kerry cycle 4 times in 1 day, do 2 marathons the same week followed by 2 iron man challenges and doing 19 triathlons in 5 days and flying to America to run east coast to west coast in 10 days.

Ugh, none of those would do it for me. Even the fashion model ones aren't at all attractive to me. Too much definition. I think it's great when someone wants to look after their weight and figures, but too much muscle isn't attractive to me at all. I really like strong arms and a firm stomach but the very defined 6-pack and pecs look does nothing for me.

I ran marathons up to the time i was 47 Was always fit still am as i walk 8-10 hours a week "bit overweight" it can be a little addictive i remember when young wanting to look good when young is a natural approach to maturity of an adult.
Iv seen people use additives to gain muscle and this is wrong stupid really.
    '
I suffer from Rheumatoid arthritis and i would not wish it on anyone That is why now i walk 8-10 hours a week.
I'm in remission now and hopefully it will last at least i have my two Jack Russell's to egg me on. Oh I'm 60+ happy Xmas to all.

I would pick the first row and they are still a little more muscly than I would normally find attractive. David Gandy in the middle would be the best of the lost for me. I like or I'm attracted to lean physiques with some slight definition from low body fat. Basically, I like thin-ish men with wide shoulders.

The second and third row do nothing at all for me. Nothing.

This thread is a perfect illustration of what someone said in its sister thread about the difference in posting when it comes to talking about men's looks.

Crossfit makes many claims. I was thinking Steve Redmond who did the Oceans 7 last year was seriously fit. Then I thought about it. Them cyclists lads are essentially turbo'd because of the number of red bloodcells they have.

Blood doping, traing, steroids, whatever. They can seriously move oxygen!

Yea pro cyclists are scarily fit aerobically. Even before the "help". In converting oxygen to power they're about the top tier along with cross country skiers. The Tour de France alone makes a marathon look lazy. And remember, they're (usually) cycling races from early spring in all conditions over thousands of miles before they hit the summer of the big tours, then before and after the French tour they have others like the Giro. It actually beggars belief. Even without drugs some keep up this relentless physical pressure. They have seriously high thresholds for pain. There are enough stories of guys getting back on the bike after breaking bones in a crash and completing the race. One guy was hurting so badly from an injury that he ground his teeth so that pain would distract him and required 20 grand in dental bills. Superhuman shít.

On the drugs front? I just don't believe the top guys are "help" free. They're better at covering it up compared to the mad years with quite literally superhuman outputs, but it's not a clean sport. Never really was, but back before blood doping and the like it was mostly amphetamines to keep them going. Back then you couldn't turn a donkey into a race horse. Since about 1990 you can. Take Mr Armstrong. Innocent, aggressively so, until well.. he wasn't. Before he got into the doping he was a middle of the road(no pun) cyclist. Might win the odd stage, figure in the main bunch, might win a classic on a good day type of rider. A Merckx, Lemond, Hinault, Kelly he wasn't. Not even close. Added Vitamin Dope? 7 times winner of the Tour.

I won't name names, but if you wanna play spot the dopers play it thusly. Look at guys who won the Tour De France since the early 90's. Now look at their results from their first and second tour before the wins came. The dopers are the ones who barely made a dent in their early days. Compare pre 90. Tour winners, especially multiple tour winners nearly always came in very high in the rankings their first time out. Greg LeMond even joked he was pissed off at only coming third or fourth on his first tour and he was 21 or somesuch. Pre 1990 pretty much every single guy who won the Tour, especially guys who won multiples came in top ten if not top five from the get go. Post 1990 that pattern goes away. Hmmmm...

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.
