99% of the organisation aren't. The 1% at the very top make a tidy living from the 99%'s voluntary work however. That's just life though, no different to politicians in power.

Yep, because people like ex Kerry managers went to manage teams on the other side of the country purely for the love of the game......

He's a manager. He didnt work on the board of Wicklow or Laois. What county boards and local business men decide to spend money on is irrelevant.

It's the suggestion that the GAA are only out to make money when all that money is pumped back into the games is what I find laughable. Whether the actual money itself is spent wisely is whats debatable (like Micko et al and paying employees). They cant get everything right though and 99% of clubs in the country have decent facilities of some sort and underage structures in place so they're not doing too bad in general.

Jeez if Mick O Dwyer is a personal hate figure then you must be a very sad individual, could you not have picked a more recent example lets say John Allen or Donal O'Grady crossing the border for Silver?

He's the first person who came into my head. Include Allen and O'Grady as well. I remember being in Eason's in Cork city one day and Micko was doing a book signing, only he wasn't signing any books because nobody was queuing up to meet him. Seemed as if the people of Cork weren't all that keen on reading his autobiography :pac:

John Part did himself zero favours there but Wes Newton was very good. Anyone of the seeds in the top half must fancy their chances of making the final now with Taylor out sitting in his caravan of love

    John Henderson

The epitome of a sports man. Born to drink & eat fried food

Man all I ever drink these days is beer. Simply not worth the hardship (and bloody beer on its own is bad enough). If I drink any kind of spirits or even more than a glass or two of wine (not really bothered with wine anyhow) I'm a total car wreck the next day, often for 2 days

Although maybe I'm just getting old!!

Savage game there. Guessing John Henderson went very short in play

****ing hell, Van Gerwen's quarter is ridiculously hot. He plays Gary Anderson next (if he wins tonight) then Webster or Barney in the quarter

The reward for getting through that is probably Adrian Lewis in the semi.

It all makes sense before I'm out..but then the reigns are off! I think I'm reaching that age where you begin to question the volume of drink you consume versus the days that follow..ill wait until January to consider it seriously ;-)

    Van Gerwen solid 1.06 shot

Must admit I've never heard of his opponent

How dya reckon the books will price up Annie Power and Solwhit?

I presume something like 8/11 Annie Power 7/4 Solwhit? or am I way out.

Solwhit 8/11, 11/8 AP. Idont think they're going to go bigger than 100% those pair unless there's something else quite decent in the race, which is unlikely

I'd take the 11/8 AP with her weight allowance, thats why im sure she'll be fav.

Who will ride Solwhit Russell or Carberry?

Has always been Russell's ride barring injury/suspension (even though Carberry probably suits him better)

1.83 Man City at home to Liverpool

I'm guessing that price factors in City's hot home form relative to away (is say it implies they're 8-9 points better over a season without adjustment). Must admit I've no idea if such a correction (if indeed there is one) is valid

    Any ideas?

Let's hope Everton can give Sunderland a good hiding Stephen's Day
