Yup, what we need is an After hours for over 30s. Min post count of 1000 to get in and invitation only. Kids and newbies not welcome.
Doubt I would get invited though.

    Suggested title : The MeldrewDome.

    Just remember........
"Once a man, twice a boy"
And that goes for the whippersnappers in after hours as well.:(

Whenever I feel too old for AH I just take some time away and regenerate. It works wonders because AH at times can feel like a circle of repetitiveness.

We make up for our lack of computer knowledge with the fact that we know a lot of other stuff :)

Ah I'm only messing with ya's, ..it just reminded me of this ;)

The collective mental age of all AH users is around 50 +\-1yrs.

I always assumed AH was an over 35's group.

I can't imagine using this forum in twenty years time. Surely elderly people have better things to do, like mowing the lawn or cleaning ornaments?

Or actually going out and seeing the world and opening your mind? Something a lot of AH people need to do. Its like the 1950s in here.

    I do the same

Can be a tricky business mind you. For a while I was a woman on here(that was well weird). Then a hippy, then an angry bastid. I'm aiming for blonde beach bum next time around. (679. These days life is great craic. The 1700 were a right effing borefest let me tell you. Constantinople in the mid 1800's was fun though).

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

OP has a point.. at 38 I feel like I'm probably in that older than most of the posters in AH group if some of the threads and replies are anything to go by.

Or maybe I'm just not cool anymore .. nah, I was never cool! :P

I just redouble my postings .......... start acting like a teenager and get banned. Very character building and good for the soul.

My mam breaks things around the house so my dad has something to do all day. She's convinced he'll die if he takes it easy

I've always wondered about that...imagine the elderly in 50 years from now, it will be so different with the internet, 85 year old coders!

I bet all the elderly folks on here (i.e. > 35) go prancing around a claustrophobic damp apartment with a big nappy, periodically sitting at their computer to see if someone disagreed with them on AH. I'm guessing this class of folks are also morbidly obese, wear thick specsavers spectacles, have Sonic the Hedgehog comics thrown in one corner of their damp room, unkempt facial hair and a big snot stuck to the back of their head, and walk around scratching the nits off themselves all day.
