Hi all. Ive spent 34 years playing with my food. Ive always been a picky eater and never carried any weight what so ever. But ive decided id like to gain at least 2 stone. Im 6ft and the last time i hit the scales i came in at a shade under 11st. Now dont get me wrong ive no hang up with my weight or anthing,im healthy and active with no underlying illness. Non smoker or drinker. In recent weeks people have said ive lost weight but im not sure ive ever had weight to lose so maybe they just havn,t seen me for a long time and forgoti was thin. Anyway..the reason for this post is im looking for advice on how to gain weight. But this is where i have trouble.

basically my diet consists of the following foods and not much else.

    Veg:

    Spuds,Carrots,Peas,

    Meats:

    Beef,chicken,pork,sausage,ham..any meat really.

    Dairy:

    Eggs,cheese,yoghurt,Butter

    Seafood:

Seafood is a complete non runner for me,cant stand it. Im not eating it...ever!

On occasion i would also eat ready made meals such as some types of pizza and shepards pie, curry chips(fast food),but not often.

    Fruits:

Pretty much everything. I also have a healthy chocolate addiction! Definitely got a sweet tooth.

A typical days i take would be:

    10am. Fried egg sambo,2 sausages

3pm. Main meal of the day. Spuds, veg, meat plain enough food and decent sized portion.

Unfortunately i would rarely eat a substantial meal after 3pm,relying on snacks, chocolate and tea etc.

9pm. Cornflakes and 2 slices of toast.

    Bed!

Fats are your friend - not the hydrogenated type but the type that are actually real food.

    Nuts - brazils, almonds, macademias

Cheese, butter (real stuff not the horrid bastardised spreads)

    Using olive oil, coconut oil

    milk

Also - consider a revamp of some of your foods if you wish to increase overall quality. If not, what's mentionned above is a good start

    eat more.

The food you eat is fine, its the amounts that are the problem.

To gain weight, eat more food.

To gain weight healthily eat more real food and less junk food.

Real food is meat, veg, dairy (real milk, real cheese not nasty spreads as mentioned) and nuts.

If all you want to do is get bigger then eat what ever you want and lots of it.
If you want to get bigger but be healthy then avoid the junk.

Oh, and eat more veggies, not to help your weight gain but because you should. I 100% guarantee that you like more than just those three vegetables. If you like peas, then you'll like green beans, if you like carrots then you probably will eat parsnips, potaoes etc. Stop being fussy and just eat it.

The advice for 99.999% of people whatever their goal is eat more veg.

Full fat milk, at least 2 litres a day aught to do the trick.

    This ^^

And some exercise preferable weights to increase your hunger and as mentioned good fats particularly coconut & olive oil. Good quality coconut milk is a great way to boost your calorie intake.
