Oh, I know this is AH, but it is Friday so here goes with a little dose of common sense....
Each to their own I suppose

But IMO, he is as big a bluffer as any cnut that was in fianna fail,

oddly enough this is probably the most accurate thing in this post
you can't question him as he won't debate with anyone, mainly because he cannot stand over anything he says

You must have missed his televised debates in 2011 and 2007 general elections. Or any coverage of Dail debates.
he made numerous promises that he did not keep or ever intend to keep

I'm not sure how you can know that he never intended to keep them, as you don't seem to know him personally. I only remember him making one promise - to regain economic sovereignty and get the economy going again.
he is full of his own importance, as well as completely full of sh1t

Pomposity is a trait not normally associated with Enda Kenny. If you get the feeling he things he's that much better than you, you're in a bad place.
any **** er that sets himself up as some kind of saviour of Ireland is heading for a serious fall. The speech Sunday is all about his ego.
next up Minister Reilly telling us what a great job he is doing for the health of the country

I'd be interested to see any references to anything Enda Kenny said about him being a saviour of Ireland. That would be pretty newsworthy. For some reason I can't recall this ever happening though.
In fairness Sunday could be termed a State of the Nation Speech

and we are in some state :D

I don't know about you, but life seems pretty good to me.

This could turn into a great drinking game if you down a shot every time you hear the words "Sovreignty" or "Recovery"

My money is on 'people' and 'jobs' and 'best small country in the world to have sex with woolly animals'. Maybe.

what time and station is it on? just so I know which channels to skip while flicking around, can't afford to replace the tv if I end up putting the remote through it

You must have missed his televised debates in 2011 and 2007 general elections. Or any coverage of Dail debates. In the televised debates that's where he told the lies, your dail debate argument is bollox, that's just people shouting at each other, he will not debate on serious subjects now.

I'm not sure how you can know that he never intended to keep them, as you don't seem to know him personally. I only remember him making one promise - to regain economic sovereignty and get the economy going again.
I think you will find that this government has admitted that they made promises they could not keep so as they could win the election, everyone does it was I think their answer

Pomposity is a trait not normally associated with Enda Kenny. If you get the feeling he things he's that much better than you, you're in a bad place.
Probably unfair on my part, its would hard for him to be superior considering he is from mayo

Never said it, but he regularly references what a great job they are doing

I don't know about you, but life seems pretty good to me.
As I said, each to their own, not sure too many people will agree with you

    Will not change a thing.
He could do a song and dance routine or just stare at the camera and pick his nose because it doesn't matter.

The pricks that voted him in have exactly the same herd mentality as the pricks who voted for the other shower.
They will all stand in line to vote at the next election and do what they are told to do by their masters. Baa baa baa.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

I know this is a very non-AH answer, but can anyone explain what exactly "leaving the bailout" means?

We still obviously have a huge debt from bailing out the banks which we'll be paying off over the next 40 odd years.

Does this mean we stop borrowing? Or just that we stop emergency borrowing, and go back to borrowing on the markets?

Its a celebration for the elite, they thought for a brief few moments that when the microscope was turned on the country by the German Union their lifestyles might have to change

    it never happened

Who's up for a game of bulls^1t bingo during the speech?

Cross off the cliché as he says it. Get a full line to win.

Winner gets 1000 shares in Anglo Irish Bank.*

Previous Government Austerity Share the pain Tough choices
    Recovery Bailout Sovereignty Troika
Friends in Europe Open for Business Turned a corner Green Shoots
Tax Adjustment Children’s future IMF Little steps

Yes apparently the fact that we can now stop borrowing from Peter but instead also have to borrow from Paul is a cause for a celebration.

Did we not get a lower fixed intrest rate from the Troika and IMF than we could potentially get on the bond markets? or am i imagining this

It's amusing the way people pretend he's as bad as Bertie. I know a bit, but I'm not as hugely informed regarding Irish politics as many others, yet even I can tell that saying "Enda Kenny is a whatever" is just a meaningless, generic statement that could be applied to any politician ever, and is probably just said because he is a politician. He's an utterly benign individual.

    It's a pity the "Let's bash anyone who's a politician because they're a politician" crowd wouldn't just stay over at TheJournal.ie.

This is going to be some cringefest, definitely will have my popcorn at the ready.

I think it's pretty obvious what he's going to announce - dissolution of government while instating himself as Supreme Lord of Ireland.

Thanks guys for paying back the billionaire gamblers their investment. They couldn't and still cannot believe their luck.

I won't be listening to the garbage.

He should get the same fellow that did Mandela's. It would make more sense.

The amount of arm and hand movement he makes he is probably doing his own sign language interpretation of his speech.

Would not be surprised if he gives his speech sitting in a rocking chair in front of an open fire and wearing one of Ryan Turbidys toy show jumpers

Agreed. The AH crowd should stick to purile topics, they tend to let them selves down when the topic edges towards politics. It is pretty clear that the vast majority of posters here are just parroting stuff they've heard elsewhere had haven't the slightest clue about politics and policy enactment. The 'he's a politician and he's making cuts therefore he's a hate figure' is infantile.

Who needs a fortune teller when we already have Obama's speeches readily available online. :cringe:

The real laughs are going to come from Micheal Martin, who has been given a right to reply by RTE.

Some pair of balls on that guy in fairness!
