Amazing, what are the chances of a girl having a long term boyfriend, must be like the odds of winning the lottery. Did they also know about her dead granny, and someone who is thinking of getting a new job?

Nobody, in the history of the world, has been able to demonstrate any sort of psychic abilities, including fortune tellers. It can't be done.
if they can do it they can claim a million dollars
    One Million Dollar Paranormal Challenge
So before going to any of these people just ask why they haven't taken up this offer.

I got asked by a psychic "Who is Michael? Do you know a "Michael? I am seeing the name Michael..."

Me, I am Irish, of course I know a Michael... I also know a Pat, Patrick, Patricia and Paddy, a Mary, an Ann and the ever popular Tom...

    Jaysus wept!

And I'm sensing some concern for somebody close to you who is ill.

HA, your wrong. I'm probably just about the only person in Ireland who doesn't know somebody who is ill.

Haha i wouldn't mind if you started a thread stating the fortune teller told her something absolutely crazy specific, and do we think it's real.(i would still say no)....But to say she said we'll get married, like how absolutely vague and ridiculous!

It hasn't happened yet, you are the one who will be deciding that fate!

Haha yea i know what you mean but he said to her that she will teach in the future and currently shes in college to be an irish teacher and he said one other thing to her that she does be worried about and only me and her know this thing nobody else just found it a bit odd ha :)

They are just skilled at picking up on signals from their clients - they chat about seemingly unconnected subjects to get an idea and then zoom in on it. Its called cold reading

In general, while revelations seem to come from the reader, most of the facts and statements come from the subject, which are then refined and restated by the reader so as to reinforce the idea that the reader got something correct.

    Why don't gypsies use condoms?

Because they've got crystal balls, so they can see it coming...

Went to one years ago, she said you are going out with a fella who drives very fast, tell him to slow down. He passed her door every evening on the way to see me.

this year's fortune tellers convention had to be called off due to unforseen circumstances

GF is into that shìt, she went to one a few years back and was told that our "unborn daughter's spirit" was guiding us through our lives and that it was responsible for me landing my job at the time.

I flipped my shìt at the job part considering I had spent the better part of 2 years working on certs and constant interviews to get where I was and then to have the credit given to a mystical force.

Missus went to a palm reader years ago, had never met her before, during the reading the lady looked at her funny and said, why have you all of a sudden gone off eggs, are you pregnant?

She was in fact in the very early weeks of pregnancy, we knew this & the missus couldn't even look at an egg at the time without heaving

So it was a weird one, missus loves eggs usually has one everyday for breakfast

The "real psychics"might say that they can't turn it on and off,it comes when it comes.
Premonitions of impending doom or the telepathy between twins is commonplace.More of an open mind should be kept on these matters I think. Not regarding fortune tellers though obviously.

The burden of proof is on the psychics. If they come to the scientific community and give proof of their abilities in a controlled manner, then awesome.

I'll have next weeks lottery numbers please.

    I think not.

The world would be flat without open minds.

That doesn't mean it can't be objectively tested.

Anytime someone gets a premonition of impending doom, they can publicly announce it.

After months or years of accurately predicting things at a rate greater than random selection; they could save, convincingly, that they have demonstrated psychic ability.
