Why are Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael, RTE & the Independent obsessed with Sinn Féin?

I have to say I have always been somewhat uncomfortable with the actual name of the Sinn Féin political party. Maybe its because I work in PR but I would advise a name change. Don't get me wrong, I would consider voting for them but the name suggests negative connotations.

Like what does "We Ourselves" or "Ourselves Alone" mean? Is it racist?
Is it "All Ireland for the Irish"? What about our new multicultural Ireland? Will all English people be evicted after unification?
Irish people no longer want to be Alone! We live on a rock in the middle of the Atlantic, how much more alone can we be? I am going to Copenhagen on Monday, is this allowed?

It also sounds like "Mé Féin" which means Selfish. Are you the Selfish Party? Are you full of "Mé Féiners" because we have enough selfish politicans thanks!

Even the initials "SF" - Sweet Fúck? Shít Faced? No good.

PS. Fianna Fail also needs a revamp because their product is shot.

That was free PR consultancy from Red Pepper, use it well.

More of it today from the Irish Independent:
Sinn Féin TD hints at party exist as anger grows

SINN FEIN looks set to lose one of its most promising TDs in what will prove to be a huge blow to under-fire leader Gerry Adams.

The Irish Independent can reveal that Meath West TD Peadar Toibin has told his supporters that he is likely to quit the party in the new year.

Then Peadar Tóibín came out in reaponse:
Peadar Tóibín: Fianna Fáil approached me, but I want to rejoin Sinn Féin

.....But despite being at odds with the Sinn Féin position on abortion, the Meath West deputy said this morning that reports that he was preparing to quit the party altogether are “inaccurate” and “frustrating and tiresome”.
In a statement released yesterday, he said: “During the last 17 years I have invested my time and energies wholeheartedly into the Sinn Féin project and I hope that the necessary space is created to allow myself and others do so again.”
    Peadar Ó Tóibín Twitter

"The article written by Niall O Connor in the Irish Independent is completely untrue and false. Disappointed to see such poor journalism."

Does Tony O'Reilly and his paper really think that they continue with these scandalous articles without people catching on to them? The fact that Fianna Fáil are also trying to convince Sinn Féin TDs to defect to Fianna Fáil whilst at the same time ridiculing and coming with false moral outrage and lies about Sinn Féin shows how deeply hypocritical and contradictory FF & Micheal Martin are, they really have no leg to stand on.

Stupid error on my part, nevertheless, they are both corrupt corporatists who share the same politics and sing from the same hymn sheet.

I wouldn't be a supporter of sinn fein but i find myself rooting for them over the attacks from Independent News & Media and the crap being spouted by Gilmore, Martin, Shatter etc.

    Oh dear.

Gentlemen, you know I am right. Send Gerard my way and I will have him looking like the Dalai Lama in 3 months!

I heard Enda essentially called him a liar in the Dáil today over the IRA membership. I am surprised at Enda, you would think his confidence level would be sky-high by now but he is still over-coached and resorts to name calling when confronted by people he perceives as smoother, more intelligent than himself. He needs to be very careful, he will only send more and more voters to "Ourselves Alone" with his 'broken record' attacks.

Actually Red Pepper could become Propaganda Advisor if he plays his cards right....

    They're at it again http://www.independent.ie/irish-news/enda-kenny-tells-gerry-adams-on-ira-membership-nobody-believes-you-29826569.html
The author Fionnan Sheahan I believe has leanings towards FF and also wrote another SF bashing article in the Sindo last Sunday. Its like an obsession, where are the stories digging up dirt on FG, FF and Lab? Looks like the elite establishment are afraid of change.

Having seen Enda in the Dail fail to understand the implication of "Fatal" in a diagnosis of "Fatal Foetal Abnormalities" I think he need more than PR advice.

I would imagine his leanings are dictated by Independent Newspapers. Richard Curran, a journalist whom I would have had a lot of time for, is now writing in that very spindependent way.
Gotta bring home the bacon I guess.

It was in response to a question on the top up issue. What a joke of a parliament, the bigger joke of course is that there's no mention of this in the article.

In more ways than one ;) Averil Power (born 26 July 1978) is an Irish Fianna Fáil politician.[1] She was elected to the 24th Seanad in April 2011 by the Industrial and Commercial Panel,[2] and is the Fianna Fáil Seanad spokesperson on Education and Skills.

    That's his wife :)

You're right, Enda is a lost cause. Would be depressing to be advising him.
Adams had actually asked Enda a question about HSE salary top-ups when Enda got flustered and replied with the same old clichéd IRA accusations.

Don't get me wrong, I am 100% convinced Gerard was a member of the IRA but I could work with him and his past. I might start by shaving his beard off!
    :)

You leave his beardy beard alone. Otherwise Martin will glare at you, and you wouldn't want that.

Martin's best PR move was to be seen laughing with his new buddy Paisley. Genius.

The Chuckle brothers was the name they were given by the NI press. Paisley stepped down soon after.

RTE just let Micheal Martin broadcast his own State of the Nation speech tonight even though he is not even Taoiseach, Tánaiste, President... just the leader of Fianna Fáíl.

What the f*ck is this sh*t?
