Saw a 132 Zafira earlier, talk about the oldest/worst design still being sold. It looks like it came of the production line in 1999. Hideous.

Saw a 132 Laguna. Didnt know they still existed

There's a Laguna coupe now to isn't there? 90% of its lines have been shamelessly robbed from other cars.

4 wheel steering on some models, rare enough these days.

I genuinely thought I saw an Aston Martin yesterday when I saw one in my peripheral vision.

Getting tools for Christmas, ideally a decent socket wrench kit and maybe a torque wrench too, any tips on what and where to buy?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,536 ✭✭✭✭L-M

Get a decent halfords set. Should be half price now.

I got this set on dgts recommendation (I think) very nice quality and very comfortable to use :)

Halfords set gets my recommendation. Life time warranty and when on special offer it just can't be beat.

I went in to halfords to buy 20 litres of 5w30 oil, it was 30 something euro - the guy said it would be much cheaper on sale after christmas (showed me the price lists and it was under 20 quid)
I reckon most stuff will be much cheaper there in the sale.

Mcquillans are great, great choice, guy behind the counter normally knows what you're looking for, always get a few bob off if you ask for it.

I got this one in Lidl a few months back, cost €85 but has everything you would need. Great value IMO. Shame they only come up now and again.

I wouldn't have noticed it unless pointed out, but those alloys look really out of place.

    Aye. Nasty enough on it.

    Meanwhile in kildare.....

People on bikes haven't discovered reflective attire yet! I nearly took out 3 of them, all of them wearing black, and decided "hey I know what we should do! Lets all pull out in front of a car that's coming along the road! They'l see us for sure!"
Times like this I need a dashcam
Now half my tires are on a road in Naas  But at least my brakes work, stupidly good at that

Whats worse again is the people out walking with LED flashlamps who want to make sure you see them by dazzling you by pointing it right in your face from 60m away until you pass them

Cheers for the advice earlier, lads. I'll have a poke around in Halfords, I know a lad in there so it could somewhat sweeten the deal. :D

Just a small question, is it possible to adapt a 4 stud hub to take a 5 stud alloy? Is there some form of adapters or anything like that? I've come across a set of alloys i want for chrissymas, but they're a 5 stud only :(

In a word. yes. It's a lot of work though and I'm not entirely sure what's involved exactly. Ask dgt :P
