Met the parents in Harvey Norman to do some window shopping for a new TV. Drove home with a 42" in the backseat.

Screw you guys and your dates. Night in for me.

On the way into town now for the 12 pubs. Feelin a tad shook, last night turned out a helluva lot boozeier than intended. The 12 pubs isn't starting til but I'm meeting a mate at 4 for an eye opener.

So in the last 48 hours, 2 people I know have gotten engaged (not to each other) and another's just announced she's getting married this summer....jesus we're too young for these dominos!!

    I know the feeling.

Well, maybe not the young part.

Hah I've just seen that post! Welcome to my world.
I'm kinda stunned by all this. One of the girls hasn't hit 21 yet...I just...like...what.

They'll be busy rediscovering their youth in 15 years when they're single again and their kids are off to school.

    20. That's terrifying :o

I'm 23, and I don't intend on being near marriage for at least a decade.

I'm 20 as well, even the thought of my 21st next year is weird, never mind goddamn weddings...
    Mental, the lot of 'em!

Way back when I was a young whippersnapper and had just moved to the UK, I remember spending an evening chatting to a lovely 19 year old girl. Was convinced I was in, so I asked for her number... and she apologetically pointed to her wedding ring. Dafug.

Instinctively been checking the ring finger ever since.

I do this too since living in NY for 6 months.

Identical thing happened to me with a 21 year old. Was shocked as I genuinely hadn't even considered it as a possibility.

    I know.
If another one even looks sideways at someone next week, that's it, I'm out, I'll hibernate for the next 10 years

hahah. I’m zen about my friends getting engaged now; I was looking at it all wrong. :D

I forgot that my flatmate is /also/ friends with the couples who got engaged; on top of that three more of his friends and one ex also got engaged in that last two weeks or so. That’s a lot of engagement parties/weddings to bring his girlfriend to.

    No pressure then…

On a different topic; folks, I know a lot of you have beards (excluding BK, I hope) – anyone know a good barber for styling beards and what not? I’m four weeks into growing one and I could do with a barber who knows his/her shizz. My beard is looking pretty promising but it’s got a few unique quirks and I’m not quite sure how to handle it just yet…

I concur....that's too many in a short space of time!

I'm bate after the weekend, had a great one though, afraid to look at my bank account, did wreck - although I am now the proud owner of my very own blazer :pac:

Also we now have a disco ball in our kitchen...it's a tree decoration but we've made it work as a kitchen ornament to great effect!

While I'm sure it must feel very liberating to look like a hobo, for the sake of my career I will need to keep it tidy :p

I'm a massive comedy fan, would watch stand up routines religiously, in all honesty. Have just arrived home from seeing Bill Burr in Vicar Street, and honestly, it would be the equivalent of watching Liverpool in an FA Cup Final, for me.

Guy is a genius of his trade. Fantastic, and hilarious, show.

Cork man, Chris Kent, opened for him, and I must say, I was very impressed with him. Young guy who looked fairly comfortable up on stage and had some great material to boot.

Still can't get over the fact that Bill Burr came to Dublin. I mean, I bought the tickets ages ago, but I was still half expecting some imposter to enter the stage. Buzzing :D
