I suppose you travel to work on a Steam train & sweep chimneys the weekends too? :P For flight sims, yes, absolutely. For an FPS game, mother of god no...it feels awfully unnatural

People who invert controls for FPS games also have inverted nipples - FACT.

This is a disturbingly arousing new fact to me.

This is a disturbingly arousing new fact to me.

I'm disturbed with what arouses you disturbingly.
I have an image, more like a gif really, of you walking around a night club with a laptop running Quake 3 and asking women what sort of controls they'd prefer.

This arrived this evening after a long time in the international postal system (8 weeks). I'd actually forgotten about it so was a nice surprise.
It's a large Secret of Mana poster that's been printed on fabric instead of paper.

I really like the grain the fabric gives it. You need to click to see it properly.

A nice edition to the man cave wall :)

Very cool. What happened that it took 8 weeks to get through the system?

It was ordered from the US, and they said it was coming from the US but in the end it actually shipped from Hong Kong.

    Wow! that's amazing!

Did you have it printed on it? Or is that some obscure legit piece of merch?

It just printed using a large scale fabric printer I think.

Is there any chance you could share the service you used to do this?

I would definitely be interested in printing things onto fabric like that.

    I'm assuming it's not cheap!

I know Spoonflower can do that kinda thing, I often see custom fabric being turned into dresses.
BTW love the link waveform! I'd love to do something like that

That's really nice Steve! Are you going to frame it?

A few bits and bobs of mine from the past week.

When it comes to an FPS, the mouse is your 'eyes' and not a control stick. You look up with your eyes to look up and down with your eyes to look down.

The way I see it is it's how your neck works. You tilt your head back to look up and tilt it forward to look down. Makes sense to me. You non-inverters are just a step up from noobpadders :P

At least we can agree that the japanese have it all wrong. They invert the y and x axis.

After a bit of googling it appears that PackMania Posters did Steve's beautiful fabric print.

I had an idea for a perler project that was a screenshot frorm a game,
but there was just a way to many pixels to do it with beads.

I think a fabric print might just be the right way to go.

Any one pick up Sonic for the 3ds yesterday?
I must confess, find the game to have aged a little bit... I'd prefer to see Sonic 2, 3 or Knuckles instead...
So, whats next in the 3d classics range?

Sonic has been launched on the EShop in 3D???

I've been staying away from the eshop for the last few months as to not update my 3DS firmware.

This throws a spanner into the works

As for the aged comment - feck off! :D It's still better than anything on the 3DO...

Just played Sonic in 3D and it plays really good and looks awesome and sharp in 3D.

Space Harrier is the best by far of the Sega 3D classics , Super Hang on is al right but the controls are a bit sketchy .
Altered beast sucks but I don't know why I bought it anyway as I always hated the slow awkward controls .

I don't think Sonic 1 has aged at all, in fact, it's mechanics, level design, soundtrack & controls are still vastly superior to any recent Sonic game.

Was watching the lads play it for a few mins the other day - stunningly good looking game. Full screen and full speed, amazing colours on the Sony Trini and those scanlines...

I never played it as a kid so it has no nostalgia factor for me, but it's still a fabulous game.

The 3D version of Sonic is made by M2 so you know there's a lot of love and attention been put into emulating it accurately.

Very true. Well except Sonic '06... everyone loves that game.

Everything about Sonic 1 is good except there are too many water sections. I like the greater variety and higher pace of Sonic 2 but Sonic 1 is my second favourite for sure.

I'm starting to get a hankering for a 3DS... the library is starting to look really good now. I'm sort of waiting till there's a flashcart that does saves because I'm a cheap son of a gun.

I'm thinking about the new Zelda and digital downloads are very convenient but it's ridiculous that the price is exactly the same as the cart version though as they save so much on production, logistics and retail profit

Crap, how did I miss out on all this Sega 3D loveliness???

Feck it, flash card potential can go bye bye for the time being, I'm updating my firmware and going on the store to get these.

Ok, I don't actively dislike the game, I may have been expecting too much from the 3d effect.
The tv effect in 3d is odd, can't see myself playing that very often.
It is an indicator of where the 3d series is capable of going, which is anywhere.
I'm fascinated to see if they translate any N64 titles, like Blastcorp or Mario 64.

I got it from a crowd on ebay called kegscrunchy.
