Nicole Schwashinton from xfactor. Every time she opens her mouth i wanna punch the tv. She is the epitome of everything that is wrong with pop culture and people in general.

I am a parent but I can't stand getting stuck in conversations with other parents about children, schools, toys, what our kids can do etc.

This drives me up the wall. Talking to some parents with kids the same age boasting about what their kids are doing. I let it go over my head most of the time.

    Gay Headlines.

The second biggest headline on BreakingNews.ie is about who a English gay swimmers boyfriend is. Seriously though, dfaq is that headline news?

Yeah, cause nobody's interested are they? That's what news editors do, isn't it? They find somehting that "nobody" cares about and put it on their front page.

I couldn't give a toss, btw, but there are clearly large numbers of people who do.

    Great thread

    - Rugby, especially of the Leinster variety.
    - Partly related, but George Hook. It's like listening to Jabba the Hut without the pizazz.
    - Agree on Irish political debate. Truly dismal stuff (the referendum debates last time out may have been the least edifying things I've ever witnessed)
    - The word 'Artisan'. I mentally substitute the word 'charlatan' whenever I hear it.
    - The never ending 'dole scrounger' red herring. There are lots of people on the dole because of unfortunate circumstances, and plenty of people on it as a lifestyle choice because they've no chance of making a better living with honest work. You won't cut down the latter number unless you cut the dole down to bare survival levels, or deliver better opportunities for low-skilled workers. Does it really take a new threat every day to discuss that?

There's lots of other stuff I'm sure.

    Very long posts.
    I'm disinterested after 2 lines

People caught up the annual "new iPhone/Pad" trend.
I don't know if i find the people who openly go on about it worse, throwing in a mention of it whenever they can or those that rather obviously make a veiled attempt to show it off ie: photos taken with the thing in front of a mirror.

Joan Burton's voice. She could be telling me I'd won the lotto and I still wouldn't notice her.

The mention of Northern Ireland makes me zone out.

Anything on TV3 really, especially anything connected to Expose. It has to be the most irritating show ever produced for Irish television screens.

If I read/see the word epic used in an article or tv show. You can almost be guaranteed that what is being referred to as epic is not.

Anything like "take to the streets" or moaning about the lack of protesters.

Get a bit of perception, compared to most of the world you are up near the top of the pile!

    Fix my house up/property shows
    Cookery shows
    Soaps
    Any hospital-related shows
'Celebs' seems like a show is unwatchable unless it has a 'celeb' featured.

That doesn't leave you with much left to watch on tv

Mary O'Rourke. What's strangest is that I couldn't tell you one of her political views or ideas, yet I've seen her show up on a thousand programmes yammering about nothing and making crap jokes
