    Football-related news. Also never-ending here.

    Great thread

    - Rugby, especially of the Leinster variety.
    - Partly related, but George Hook. It's like listening to Jabba the Hut without the pizazz.
    - Agree on Irish political debate. Truly dismal stuff (the referendum debates last time out may have been the least edifying things I've ever witnessed)
    - The word 'Artisan'. I mentally substitute the word 'charlatan' whenever I hear it.
    - The never ending 'dole scrounger' red herring. There are lots of people on the dole because of unfortunate circumstances, and plenty of people on it as a lifestyle choice because they've no chance of making a better living with honest work. You won't cut down the latter number unless you cut the dole down to bare survival levels, or deliver better opportunities for low-skilled workers. Does it really take a new threat every day to discuss that?

There's lots of other stuff I'm sure.

On TV commercial breaks make me switch off. Day time commercials are particularly off-putting.

Discussions about superhero films and night's out when I wasn't there make me switch off.

Fianna Fail politicians. Whenever they come on the tv or radio and start talking about the mistakes the government are making or what they should and shouldnt be doing, I just want to tell them to go outside and play because the adults are busy cleaning up after them.

Im not even a FG or Labour voter!

This drives me up the wall. Talking to some parents with kids the same age boasting about what their kids are doing. I let it go over my head most of the time.

Yeah, cause nobody's interested are they? That's what news editors do, isn't it? They find somehting that "nobody" cares about and put it on their front page.

I couldn't give a toss, btw, but there are clearly large numbers of people who do.

People caught up the annual "new iPhone/Pad" trend.
I don't know if i find the people who openly go on about it worse, throwing in a mention of it whenever they can or those that rather obviously make a veiled attempt to show it off ie: photos taken with the thing in front of a mirror.

The mention of Northern Ireland makes me zone out.

Anything on TV3 really, especially anything connected to Expose. It has to be the most irritating show ever produced for Irish television screens.

If I read/see the word epic used in an article or tv show. You can almost be guaranteed that what is being referred to as epic is not.
