If there is more than 1 they are all of the same origin ;)

The nonsense posts on this thread are killing me, look anyone having up to 16 kids on welfare is fine & should get all the support that taxpayers can give, regardless of their views.

17 kids on welfare, now THAT is taking the p!ss.. but anything up to 16, fine.

Do they just blow stories out? like reality is this woman could be on £300 but thats not going to anger readers so blow it up to £500?

They break down the three schemes she was on and the amount of each to the pound.

    One and nothing mentioned

The article says that there is just one dad, and he walked out a short while ago. Interesting to see how many jumped to the conclusion that she must have been sleeping around to have so many kids...

More than likely he has plenty more children with other women

    "More than likely"?

Jeez... it's not an impossibility (although I don't know about "plenty" more children) but it's also likely he just had eight children with her and that's it.

It would hardly be difficult for nine people to survive on 2k a month would it? Ffs.

75% of the clothes can be hand me downs.
    Porridge for everyone at breakfast.
Bag a spuds and turnips will do for dinners.
    Beans on toast for supper.
    Snack on eggs.

Guaranteed her money is going on 56 take aways a week and lord know how many cigarettes between the lot of em.

Seriously you'd feel like screaming Duuuuuurh?! at these people.

Doubt he has taken a vow of celibacy, but not abstaining from sex does not = plenty more children with other women. Bit of a leap.

I really dont want to get into this but when I was living in the UK I was getting in around £1500 a month (take home) and I struggled from time to time. Rent, bills, food, transport, coke, hookers. Fairness though I cant handle money. Basics in the UK can be expensive and not as cheap as people think.

Anyone have a rough estimate on what a single mother in Ireland would get per month for 8 kids?

Can see why people are angry. Comments are classic.

Why? It may be poorly written but its coverage of all current news is more concise and in depth than any other site.

The "don't have kids you can't afford" argument is as low as it gets.

Yes the parent/s should have been more careful if they can't afford more children, however that isn't the fault of any child and I for one hate the thought of any child having to go hungry, or go out without proper clothing or footwear.

So lets me get right she's on 500pw and can't afford to live on it for doing absolutely nothing other than popping out babies ,
So £62.50 per person pw ,
She's certainly able to afford to hair done regularly by the looks of it and none of the family look malnourished or like there wearing rags either ,

If I can feed a family of 4 on less than €50 pw I'm pretty sure this woman can afford her rent and pay her driving fines on £ 500 pw

Fair enough but I was assuming her rent is pretty much paid for like here?, and she lives in some housing estate, what travelling is she doing except on her legs.

Dont forget her fines for driving in the bus lane! Surely they should have known that she is special and can do whatever the **** she wants.

Now if she lived here she would get
    €188 pw
    Child dependants €29.80 x 8

    € 426 pw or 22,172 pa
    +
€1,090 pm roughly €13000 pa children allowance

Income of €35000 pa tax free

Not including medical cards and rent allowances

If she can't look after the kids she's got then they should be placed in homes they will be taken care of.

If people want the government to step in and house, feed and clothe their kids then of course the government should have a say in the child's upbringing.

Don't want that? Then look after your own kids. I bet if handouts weren't so freely available there wouldn't be such large families.

If you can afford to raise 8 kids, that's great. If you can't, then obviously you can't take care of them.

Ann I agree with you but come on, 31 and 8 kids. Surely a time must have came when something must have clicked in their brains and said enough kids if even for a few years?

Once you know the facts, I think it's possible to be critical of specific people's lifestyles but some of the comments are hateful.
