38, with possibly an illegitimate child or two from my asshole uncle.
    28 on Mam's side and 13 on dad's side.

But 28 + 13 =/= 38, you eejit, I hear you cry. Well, I have 3 cousins that are on both sides, as my mam's brother and my dad's sister were also married. Therefore, these are only counted once, really.

I used to think I had loads of cousins until this thread came along. It seems a lot for my generation, though (I'm 22). Dad has 7 siblings, one who never married or had kids. Mam has 14 siblings, one who died in childhood and two who have no children.

The great thing about having loads of relations is when you have a life event, you have the potential to make a fortune off it... :D Plus I like a lot of my cousins and my relations in general. Some of them are bonkers and it's class to have a night in or out with them, the laughs are endless. I always felt a little sorry for folks who had few relations, or didn't speak to most of them. It's this whole other level of friendship and comradery that's just different from anything else. It's pleasant.

Thirteen, all in different countries to the one I'm living in now. I'm the eldest and the second eldest is eighteen and in South Africa. The Irish and British ones are geographically closer but WAY younger than me (some are still wearing nappies) but I'm closest to my South African cousin although I only get to see her once every three or four years.

I counted 16 first cousins but one of my Dad's brothers might have more and on my Mam's side we're as close to some second cousins as a lot of people are to their first. Same with one or two on the Dad's side but not most of them.

11 on my Dad's side, 3 died young before I was born, so 8 really. 11 on my mothers side, all in England.

    6 on Dad's side, 4 on mom's.

My dad's the youngest in his family, and mom the eldest in hers, so my cousins ages range from 4-37ish.

I have four first cousin, two on each side. One side are much older than me and the other side much younger than me so I never really had the experience of being friends with my cousins. Now that I think of it the generations are a bit messed up on my Dad's side. My Dad was a great-great uncle before he became a grandfather.

My mum has over 100 first cousins, (including an aunt that is two years younger than her with children my age who are her cousins), so I probably have hundreds of second cousins.

65 I think.. Only know my Mum's side though. I have a teacher's quiz for new classes and that's one of the questions on it. Kids think it's crazy having so many.

10 first cousins, only ever see four of them occasionally. Probably wouldn't even recognise the others now. I think I'd like to have had a closer relationship with them (as many people I know do with their own cousins), but we didn't live anywhere near each other growing up, so never developed that bond.

I have lots and LOTS of second cousins. My mother has dozens of first cousins (her own mother being from a very large family) so I have absolutely no idea how many. I met many of them for the first time this year at a (second) cousin's wedding :) It was nice, as many of them are around my own age too.

    7.

    Don't like any of them.

Why, did they play Secret Seven when you were younger and you were the one left out? There there.

34 born between both sides. 6 have died, some in childhood before my time, some as adults. Don't really know any of them except as names. Reading this thread, it seems about an average number.

3 on my Mum's side and 4 on my Dad's. Not really close to any of them.

I counted them years ago and I think it was around 69.
I can't remember all their names, which is terrible, considering only one uncle's kids (11) lives outside of Dublin. The rest are all within an hour's distance from my house.
I don't talk to many of them though. The odd FB comment between us but I would never phone/ meet up with any of them. Sometimes I wish it was different, but then again, we are different people and I wouldn't have much in common with a lot of them.

I have 92 1st cousins. 35 mothers side, 57 fathers. Most live in ireland

    12 first cousins in total.

Two on my mother's side (she has just one sibling).
Ten on my dad's side (he has four siblings, three have children).

When I was a child, I used to envy people with loads of cousins (like my neighbours, both of whose parents had a large number of siblings). I felt like I just had seven cousins, as two grew up in America, and the other three were not born until I was in my 20s.

A friend of mine has no cousins or aunts/uncles though - both parents were only children.
