NCT to 06/14, taxed till the end of the year, 92k miles, claimed service history, couple of scuffs on the corners but 1600 (or less) gets you a 3-piece suite on wheels.

A 3-piece suite on wheels :D Ikeas finest! Never driven one but I'd say they are very very comfortable and smooth.

    Test 04/14
    Tax 12/13
Ya'll prob get it less than 500 big ones
Admittedly not quite as good as the €600 Primera mentioned earlier today but still a decent bus for someone on a tight budget.

    Asking €550

Ya probably not as good a deal as the primera but it's definitely the better built and more reliable car of the two

Depending on how well maintained, but thats pretty obvious! That model corolla is pretty much unstoppable, I'm pretty sure you could take the engine out of one and it would still drive.

Considering the tax is worth €100
    Knock €75 of the asking.
This yoke stands you 500 notes.
If its decent its a cheap motor until next August.

    Test 08/14
    Tax 01/14

    Asking €675

The petrol engines in those Primeras and most Nissan of the 90's era are pretty decent. To be honest they are just as good as what's in that Corolla. It's what bolted to them(the auxiliaries) that are the problem(on uk built examples only)

As with build quality though, from experience the Toyota is definitely the better car. When those Nissan's go up in the miles they get very shabby. Door hinges and wiper linkages wear badly and they rust etc.

Very true, I've been lucky overall with mine so far... and touch wood it continues, but I would totally agree. My wiper Linkages are fecked, top links are a known problem I had to replace mine. I think a 90's jap toyota are generally extremely well put together, the e100 corolla being a prime example.. a sunderland bolted together nissan is not quite as solid.

Saying that a nuclear bunker is not quite as solid as a decent e100 either :)

Not quite as solid as a Toyota its true - but to be honest - I think the Primeras are better reliability wise then some of the comments here suggest - in P10/P11 form.

To me the reliability of Primera vs Corolla its a bit like comparing Robbie Keane to Roy Keane as soccer players - Robbie (the Primera) is pretty damn good, But Roy (the Corolla) was at a higher level - especially at club level.

Ive never owned one - but base my views on the experience of various people - friends/work colleaques etc - whove owned these Primeras - and the general vibe is that the reliability has been something they've praised as a good point of the car.

They are more likely to throw up issues compared to a Carina II, 1.3 Corolla - but id say they are still more reliable then many supposedly better newer cars.

Im probably have it all wrong though :):):)

    Breaking this over a 'sensor' ?? http://cars.donedeal.ie/carparts-for-sale/saab-95-aero-2002-for-breaking-only/6038659

    Surely that's save-able ??

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

I'd say very save-able but maybe he's in it for the cold hard stuff rather then a love of bangernomics.

Those almera's are cheap ....up the budget to just circa 2k, and you'd get nearly an 07 one.
