    +1! Horrible things.

My grandparents bought a brand new high spec Leganza back in 2000 and I thought it was the bees knees :o Paid for it in cash too. Anyone know what'd they'd cost back in 2000?

Had one of these in the past. Despite using a small bit of oil, a lovely car. Totally reliable, well specced and really really comfy on long trip. this one looks clean.
    2001 Accord 1.8se
    91K
    NCT 03/14
    €900
(who knows how far 14 crisp 50's would get you though)

I agree, maybe all the "lovely" ones were taken by other countries.

Nice car but what's with the seller's spiel about ncap ratings and green ratings.

    2001 Opel Astra Bertone, 1.8 16v, NCT 5/14, €800

Interior looks very nice on this, you could get about €500 in May if you sold it on without NCT.

Volkswagen Passat, 1.8 Turbo (GTi engine?), NCT 4/14, tax 11/13, €1000

Looks a bit crappy on steel wheels, but that'd be easily sorted with some wheel trims or even second hand alloys

That passat has potential alright. Serious value to be had in that shape passat at the moment if your not a tdi merchant. Shud provide safe winter motoring for someone. I'd imagine if drivin half respectable probabley good mpg.

ECU need to be replacing and set up (ECU cost @80-100euro on ebay plus set up @50euro)
Still can drive with, just showing orange "check engine" on board

Could this be more than just the ECU?

They're a bit **** looks-wise, but that is very cheap for a family bus with a fair bit of NCT on a 06 plate.

Possibly/ possibly not and I could be wrong but I reckon an ECU and fitted in one of them would cost more than €150 in total.

The new year when things are getting new tests there will be better offerings. :)

At the start of the year I posted about my bangernomics thread inspired primera 1.8 that I picked up for €600... had a full service history, nct, tax, low mileage etc.

Haven't had one bit of hassle with it since, done nearly 20k since then. And just passed the nct till feb 2015 first go! I changed a cv boot, top links, front tires and a parking bulb. Expecting it to fail on something, flew through. Gotta love bangernomics!

Low profile , boardsie, low profile car , clever , youngsters learn from this , nice bangernomics TOO, and this car had good handling unlike its later incarnations to take on the mondeo of a few year previous. One of these primers low mileage went through my hands lately , very nice cars, well built nice feel. We. Eagerly await your 2016 report. :D

Low profile all the way. It is very nice to drive, love the handling, especially with the two new (free!) yokohama s-drives I put on it. Will cruise on the motorway all day, and reacts very well when thrown around on the odd quiet road occasion. If I kept it, a 2016 report shall be made! Though planning on upgrading to an e39 5 series next year... some very good bangernomics deals on them these days.

Let me know when you decide to sell, if I'm in a position at the time I may be interested. :)
