I like that impreza a lot, seems like great value.

Am I correct in saying there is not much goes wrong with them?

That 05 Impreza does look nice - but is that definitely 4wd???.

Genuine question - from what I remember - on the Mk 1 Imprezas - the 1.6 was 2wd.

And I see no mention of it in the ad - would have thought it would be a selling point for the owner to put down that it was 4wd - with winter coming - and all of that

You had me doubting there, I thought they were all AWD apart from the first generation. According to this, all non-Japanese domestic market cars are AWD

Apologies - just wasn't sure what the story with the 1.6 litres was.

Knew they did a 2.0 litre normally aspirated model in the Uk and that was 4wd.

    Re: the above 5 series,
    Looks tidy good value.
I think its always a nice touch/sigh when a near 14 year old car still has original dealer plates on it.
Just me. I could be mad.

Some of those 1.4 vvti's have a tendancy to burn a lot of oil. Other than that they are pretty unbreakable once they haven't been run low on oil

That's pretty epic value. Even given, that it comes with a months or 1000 miles warranty.

    It's a 2.2l though (tax wise) as it's facelift. Not a 2.0l as advertised.

I dunno what kind of warranty you'd get but at not a lot over a big note its good value in my eyes. Stylish load lugger. Relative practicality and not massively bad on juice.
    or this

    2002 volvo s40

    1.8l petrol (mitsu engine)
    101k
    looks clean enough
    €995

You will need to go back to a 1999 for a proper unbreakable Corolla experience.:D

The vvti isn't as bad as it's made out to be though. They won't beat a 4e-fe but as long as the oil is changed regularly they are pretty reliable.

Those early uk built vvti liftbacks though weren't the best. The Jap built saloon/estate and 3dr hatch are all better built cars.
