Tesco it is 3.19 more than double the price, Tesco are taking the Irish public for fools.
Well superquinn must think we are even bigger fools by your logic, the 4 pack is 3.49 there.

They also have a pack of smaller size turkish delight bars for 2.79, probably the same weight as the dealz ones which are well known to be smaller, as they are owned by poundland. Often their products are UK market ones and chocolate is often lower quality.

But sure why let the facts get in the way of a good old tesco bashin'

Yes, a few. One for a couple of euro and one last week for €10.

€10 aldi voucher available in Daily Mail today. All you have to do is spend €50 between now and next saturday. Simple, easy and a decent offer.

A 4 pack of frys turkish delight is 1.50 in dealz, in Tesco it is 3.19 more than double the price, Tesco are taking the Irish public for fools.

Different shops have different prices all the time. Does not mean one is ripping customers off at any point.

Suppliers negotiate different deals and timings all the time. One week its dunnes, then SV etc...unless its a national deal its unlikely they will all be on promo at any given time.

Tesco are charging 1.18 for one turkish delight
you can buy two for a euro though
That offer has been on for the past month at least
    I've bought enough of them
One of the staff even approached me after seeing
six of them in my trolley telling me it would be cheaper
if i bought the packs of them not knowing they were
    two for a euro
I've never seen turkish on offer in svalu or dunnes and
I mean never (tis my favourite:D

I'll be looking out for that dealz place next time im in though

Hardly comparible? Barry's is a branded product FFS and I've never even heard of fallons!

    I smell a court case

Have to agree with you there.

A weak effort there for Liladi. They have some nice stuff to make a comparisons with and they try and pitch economy tea bags against an Irish classic.

Lot on other places about the Fallon tea. Does not fair good.

I smell a photoshop fake in that banner.

Eh, Lidl are using the phrase 'no nonsense price promise' because Tesco have a convoluted price promise..geddit

Elsewhere, Lidl have carried out a brand challenge between their tea and Barrys tea, and publicised the results.

Why do I have to explain everything

    Hardly comparible?

    Why, they're both, eh.... Teabags:confused:

Tesco love people like you, I never heard of 'Rossini' beer before either, but I did hear of peroni.

Guess which one tastes better, and is less than half the price?

    I smell a court case

What for? Teabags are teabags. Add your hot water to one, end result Cup of tea.

You dont have to explain it. No one asked you to.

We are just debating over a post you made. :)

Peroni. Hands down winner. Although Rossini is good for a cheap lager .

I think maybe the main point that should be stated is that the price of Barry's tea is a RRP from Barry's.

NOT Tesco, Dunnes, Centra Aldi or Lidl.
This little price war is really only about branded products is is not?

Also tea and coffee for some people is a bit of a passion. Most people do taste the difference.

No the point I was making is that Fallons is a brand name. The fact that someone didn't ever hear of them before is irrelevant tbh

I know in Aldi (for example) they sell 2 different types of peanuts. One, sports the name 'Clancys' and the other bag is simply called every day essentials, both priced differently.

I got an email from Tesco today saying I would've saved 4.99 in lidl if I'd shopped their so they sent me a voucher code.
If only Lidl and Aldi had online shopping!

I wish they had online shopping too. I don't drive and to do a big shop I have to rely on Tesco or Superquinn deliveries.

After a bit of googleing, It turns out Fallons tea is re branded.

There was also a bit of suggestion,(not fact) supplied by Typhoo/ Liptons

Not much online about it though.

I might try it . Big fan of tea and good coffee .

And from what I gather wasn't Mckinley's lidl's own brand tea?

Tesco are no longer comparing their Tesco milk with Aldi/Lidl milk
    Very odd that.

Is it because they are getting creamed at the checkouts? I will get my coat.

still no rossini in aldi :(

think there's very little difference in taste between
peroni and rossini and certainly not enough to pay almost
twice as much for the former

Tesco milk has increased in price in the last week or so, it is now €2.45 for 3l, €1.69 for 2l and 85cent for 1l.

They now have a cheaper milk called "Creamfields" which is the same price as the aldi milk but is not as fresh and won't last as long as it only has about 5-6days life when bought online, Aldi milk in store usually has 7-9days life.

I'm not sure that's the reason.
Tesco stated in their price promise that low fat milk in Lidl costs 85c, yet the milk cost 75c in all Lidl outlets.

I cant see how there would be any difference in the milk
    As per:
    http://www.fsai.ie/food_businesses/approved_food_establishments.html

    The Creamfield is
    1403 "GLANBIA (BALLYTORE)
    BALLYTORE,
    ATHY,
    CO KILDARE"

I'm no Tesco fan, but have to correct you there: I just bought that Creamfields milk, it's Irish produced and the use by date is December 04th, so in 9 days

Good to hear it is Irish Milk, Did you buy online or in store? my last online shopping had several items with very short dates including the milk.

I was tempted today to buy 10 items in Tesco just for the sake of getting a ticket with a 10 euros off. Except I would rather do my shopping for 10 euros cheaper in Aldi or Lidl. I went to Lidl for their kids rain clothes and had a good look at the prices of groceries, then went to Tesco for an item I couldn't find in Lidl and checked the prices on these groceries (yes, I had plenty of time, lol, it was my lunch break). I could see how easily I could save 10€, or more.
Apples were dearer in Tesco, so were the coleslaw, the hummus, the cherry tomatoes, mushrooms (and the Tesco Value were very sad looking too), organic oranges, biscuits, bread, etc...
Incidentally, do Tesco include their store baked breads in their comparison, seeing Lidl now have in store bakeries?
