Soaps would be so much better if characters were allowed to swear, the **** that some of them have to put up with and their over the top story lines, the only way any normal folk would express themselves would be the throw in the odd **** or **** or **** off or something along those lines

Two people with the same first name on the same street.
    Impossible.

You never see people being unable to find parking, there is always an empty space conveniently available.
Also you don't see different doctors who specialise in different fields - it doesn't matter if you have a slight head cold or a gunshot wound to the head, you'll inevitably be treated by the local GP.

They never refer to an alcoholic drink by its brand name. It's either "Bitter", "G&T" or in the case of rogue characters, "Scotch"

Never see people cheating and getting away with it.

Or two people with the same first name

Cheating and getting away with it. Someone always gets knocked up.

    Even if they're gay.

In Eastenders they had characters called Billy Mitchell and Billie Jackson at the same time so they killed off the latter.

Actually (while not really a soap but still) The Big Bang Theory got innundated with complaints after it spoiled a character death from The Walking Dead

I am at the point where I hate people who complain about spoilers.

As for soaps, I remember a soap that had a main character possessed by the devil. In another soap, there was a possessed doll that came to life. Yet, I can' t remember any character that was a priest or minister. Rarely do I recall real life politics spilling overbinto the soap.
