Friend of mine went into a different Xtravision at lunch time to get his XB1, same **** was pulled on him and they told him it will also be happening at the PS4 launch, even if he had 2 games pre-ordered with them, he would have to buy another.

if it does happen like that..il be telling them to prepare for angry customers on launch night and friday...and that they will need some form of security lol
youd think the least they would do is phone their pre-order customers and let them know or offer a deal which people would definatley want like buy one get one half price or somthing..bastards

 such a disgrace. i have 1 ps4 game and i have AC in the post. didnt plan on buying another game until late december..most likely 2nd hand from adverts. now i have to either pay rip off prices for a game i dont even want

do you think theyll get rid of this blackmail by next week after the mild complaints? what is the cheapest ps4 accessory they have? i simply do not have 65 euro spend on something i dont want to buy next week!

Just the controller by the looks of it, even if people kick up a fuss they have the consumer over a barrel as they know they will not be able to get a launch console now if they cancel their orders.

Wrong thread, but they have staggered the release, unless you have pre ordered you probably will not get one, unless Argos or Tesco get more in, Microsoft came out today and admitted shortages leading up to Christmas.

I'm not asking for myself mate but this bloke is selling his Xbox One for €1000 saying that its the only way ya can get one now, I didn't think they were going to be sold out for Christmas at all.

word of advice for ppl who like me preordered earlier and at some stage exhanged their ps3. if your earlier preorder been canceled and then you receive new recepit gs treat last receipt as your preorder date. i was today in shop & paid rest and lucky for me i mentioned that cause im on business trip next week i will sent my wife to collect ps4 on thursday night. lad said that cause im november preorder (this is when i trade in my ps3) i wont get it. i show my receipt and they apologised and confirmed then that this is for 1st batch. dont forget to bring your org receipt then lads! can someone confirm how was with xone. were there special tickets fo invited ppl or did they check receipt date in shop on the night?

After ringing brown Thomas and bought the killzone mega bundle they had 100 consoles on sale today for collection next Friday. Not many left if someone is stuck. Has to be paid in full.

Just to confirm this for people.

This is Dublin only even though there are three other stores.

    Question about xtra vision shenanigans.
If you have pre-paid for your console, is your receipt not like a contract?
As in, they accepted your money for an item and must now honour their part and give you said console?
Maybe some consumer law expert knows.

Might be useful info for anyone picking up a PS4 next week.

Their is no way they can get away with it, and the people who have already being stung with it should be able to get their money back.

You should always pay in sterling with Amazon, their currency converter is never right and it will actually save you some money.

I actually have ordered in Sterling but the price is saying £363.70 with standard delivery. It's direct from Amazon too. I checked the price that they're displaying now and it's £349.
I can't see why they want to charge me an extra £24.70 :(

Absolutely right, there can be no legal basis for this. The problem is that they are preying on people that are in too much of a hurry to get their consoles and will most likely agree to whatever they say just to be able to walk out one. Also, if you pay in advance, they have your cash and your console, they hold all the cards.

It is a form of extortion (even worse than those selling consoles at huge prices on ebay etc) and they deserve to go out of business because of stunts like this.

The only thing I would say is to go easy on the staff, I would presume they have no choice in the matter and this is coming straight from the top

Standard shipping is £5.98, then you have the difference in VAT rates (UK is 20%, Ireland is 23%) which accounts for the rest of the £14.70.

The Staff in Xtravision are shambolic. Saying its Sony who told them to do that. Ridiculous.

She just sounds like a Lazy git who just wanted to get off the phone. In my Local Xtravision they are clueless. Literally clueless. The Staff are all boggers who couldn't tell you what IT stands for. Yet they all have the tech and gadgets for sale and try to sell you on the products.

People who aren't smarter than their iPhone don't deserve iPhones.

That's why they've haven't gotten a penny off me in years. Hope they go under!

They were telling people last night that it was Microsoft that was forcing them to do it, somebody should get on to Joe duffy about this, he would love it.
