Based on what I have read here yea. Head down to your local Argos an hour or two before opening and try your luck. Id still go ahead and place an order with amazon, maybe order the Knack bundle as they dont seem to popular. Amazon wont charge till it ships so If ye get one in Argos you can always cancel your amazon order

I'd imagine that the staff of argos will have snapped up the PS4s in the first batch they get, so surely that's what she means that they're spoken for. £440 for the PlayStation 4 Gamer Pack on Amazon, with delivery before Christmas.

Idk how good your chances are if trying to order right now though. You might be able to get one before christmas, but who knows really ?, best bet is to email them and hope for the best.

You may give them a ring to find out. They are calling people at the moment to say they are invited to the midnight launch.

If you don't get an invite you will have to wait until the morning.

II have not seen anything. Online will get nothing at all. In store will only have the official bundles.

If is a bit late for them to start changing orders.

Jez lads, what's the world coming to.

People not even sure how to pick up a pre order now?.

There's two options, you can queue for hours on the off chance you won't get your pre-order.

Or you can turn up at 11:50, wait maybe 30mins and walk out with your console.
Why anyone would go earlier than 11:30 is beyond me.

It's like the people that queue to sign on during the 12-2 lunch break to be first when the wait from the back is only 20-30mins.

Me and one of the lads went out to get GTA5 on launch night.
Headed to Tesco at 11:45 and were out the door at 12:15 while some people had waited two hours plus at Xtravision and Smyths nearby.

For anyone who's getting the basic killzone bundle, how much did you pay? In XV, I paid €440 whereas Argos are charging €525 for the same bundle. I don't understand this as it's cheaper to buy the solus and killzone individually rather than the bundle. They both contain the one controller and have no camera.

It's probably the 'Mega Bundle' which has an extra controller and the PS4 camera.

I was told by a member of their staff a couple of months ago they would be doing their own bundles.

Some one posted a couple of pages back, Smyths are doing their own bundles and they had prices up.

Interesting.

Well it's definitely a price error as not even the greediest company would try value a single game addition costing E125.

The E525 sounds about right for the Mega Bundle so whoever printed it must have got their wires crossed.

You may want to call them again to see if they are offering bundles on launch day. They have backtracked a lot lately. They said online customers would get the bundles and they backtracked, they then said they would get discounts on games and they backtracked on that as well.

They could backtrack on that as well.

The only 3 games I want at launch are NBA2K, FIFA and BF3.

I'd high hopes for NBA Live but saw some online streamed footage a few days ago, so knew the reviews were going to be poor when they hit.
NBA2K has it's fair share of problems(2k camera is too zoomed so you can't see everyone, AI don't commit much, 3pointers online) but maybe they've rectified some of those issues and it's still handy to play for a while(like Tiger Woods) each year.

With the pricing issues and lack of certainty about importing from VGS with the DLC problem I'll probably get NBA from there.
It's not much different than ordering from Amazon.

I'll probably get BF3 from an EU online retailer and I have Madden(360) to trade in with Xtravision giving E28 so I'll try there and Smyths(close by in Galway) and use the credit against a full price game but that will be the one and only time I pay above E60 for a PS4 game.... ridic prices.

Its crazy alright, already have Fifa and AC4 from Amazon so i'll defo get nba 2k from argos, have the killzone bundle aswell, so those 4 should see me thru xmas anyway

I played so much BF3 and followed BF4 so very little it just comes naturally to type ''BF3''.

Have since shipped my gaming PC, so no more FPS with the mouse and keyboard for me.
Will probably take some getting used to, and not for the better but I'll make the exception for BF anyway.
Wouldn't have much interest in any other FPS with a controller after growing accustomed to the PC.
BF is that good though.

Just for anyone who pre ordered in smyths and isn't sure if they will be getting it on launch day i gave them a call about my own and the woman checked the list and said i will defiantly be getting it and then invited me to the midnight launch there and then but said i have until closing time Sunday to collect it before they give it away. So if your unsure just give them a call the woman there was really nice and i think she was the manager as she was the same person who rang me about upgrading my bundle. A load off my chest now wondering if i'm getting it or not.
