I've just discovered it is an nfc icon. How do I turn it off?

Anyone update to Google hangouts which replaces it says replaces talk.
If I update, what the difference?

As nedd said, it can now be used in place of the stock launcher. I've used it for a week or so instead of the stock messaging app. Not too impressed, first off it is not the same as iMessage. You have to switch between SMS threads and data message threads rather than the transition being seamless as it is on iOS. I didn't really like the layout of the app either, prefer stock messaging for now.

Can't be done, much like Bluetooth, WiFi or 3G symbols, they'll show up when they are on.

Nobody knows. Vodafone in the UK and Ireland have said they don't know anything about it.

anyone any advice on the google now that was offered today?
    is it useful or useless?

pity that the hangouts sms is not as seamless as imessage, as that was very good.

Anyone have an idea when we might see the HTC one max over here? I have an upgrade burning a hole in my pocket and would love one.

I think Three are the only ones selling it.

I am on Vodafone and I just upgraded. Two part download.

When I tried to update first with the phone connnected my laptop I got a red triangle screen after reboot. Started to sweat a bit. Restarted and it had to download again and left it plugged out, no issues with upgrade this time

Anyone know how to install the 4.3 OTA update on a device with the bootloader unlocked/twrp recovery?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,151 ✭✭✭rovoagho

The boot loader status is irrelevant. You'll need to flash stock recovery to take the OTA, otherwise you'll wipe the device when you flash the updated ROM.

Anyone know what the best rom to go with preferably with the best battery life?

Have trickdroid on it last 2 months but they stopped updating the rom.

Just got another new update this morning, anyone know what this is ? already had 4.3 for few weeks

    software update 3.62.401.1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,834 ✭✭✭Useful.Idiot

Yeah does the new update give a better battery life? I assume disabling BlinkFeed would help in that regard anyways at least.

As for ROMS, I've heard Android Revolution HD is a great one to improve performance and battery life and has the same stock look as either sense 5.5 or the google edition plus a load of enhancements and features. Was going to give it a go if the update took too long but got the update today so gonna see how it runs first.

    Meteor.

Ive had it. It definitely downloaded couple of weeks ago. I watched it in work and said it to the lad beside me to check his s4 as my htc had got it.

I am perplexed by this. Perhaps it didnt install fully.

    hmmmm
