I'm off to walmart this morning to get a BIG box of monster and some snack to help get me through the night. Will post back tomorrow feel free to PM me if you want to know anything or add me on PSN (scooobie_3e3) if you want to send me a message. 8Hr time difference so should be playing it at 9am Irish tomorrow morning.

To cut a long story short ended up with Killzone, FIFA and Need for Speed thanks for the buy 2 get 1 free offer over here. Was so disappointed in the reviews of Knack but will pick it up on either preorder or price drop.

Looks like we got ourselves an update from Amazon UK:

● Customers who pre-ordered this console up to and including August 6 have been given an option to get a PS4 for release day
● Customers who pre-ordered this console from August 7 up to and including November 13 will receive their consoles before Christmas
● Customers who pre-order this console from November 14 will receive their consoles after Christmas
● Customers who cancel existing pre-orders and place a new order will not get their console for release day

This is from the PS4 page on Amazon. Considering I ordered mine late on October 2nd, I feel a little more confident now. The same applies for the Xbox One, which is where I saw this originally.

Was disappointed with Knack reviews as well but will prob get it at launch anyway, the gist of the reviews seems to be that it is good, just that it could and should have been much better.

My son got FIFA for the PS3 (tried to convince him to hold off - but the stubborn little fecker wouldn't listen) so wont be getting that on the PS4 (well, I don't think I will)

For 10 it might be worth doing, although I think some places want you to have the original receipt (which is long gone I'm afraid). I suppose there is no harm in checking with Smyths what their deal is.

To be honest though, I didn't really get into it on the PS3 so not sure would I bother either way)

Yes you can that's what I'm doing, bought FIFA cod ghosts and battlefield 4 for ps3 and going to upgrade them to the ps4 versions for €10 can't wait to see the graphical differences between them especially battlefield

You should be able to upgrade digitally and keep hold of the PS3 version aswell as you put this into the PS4 to use the PS4 version

That's quite a good outcome really. There has been a massive window for everyone to get sorted before Christmas. Hopefully everyone who wants one will have one.

I have to laugh about the wide range of crazy stock predictions without (m)any solid & reliable facts. We've got one person saying you'll be able to go into a store that took pre-orders and pick one off the shelves on day two and they'll throw the pre-order list out the window after day one (best of luck with that), and some saying it'll be March.

As always the truth lies somewhere in between the extremes.

I remember the annoyance of trying to get a Wii back in the day with me thinking nobody would want one! Now I would crack up waiting till March to pick up a PS4!

Spotted the banners hanging in Argos for PS4 & Xbox One,the missus is on some kind of mums facebook page & the amount of mammies asking "where can I get a PS4 for Xmas is mind boggling,Santa's gonna disappoint a lot of kids this year.She posted that some may be available for first come-first served at Argos but somebody else said they are pre-order only.

I was told that I have 48 hours to collect my pre order or it will be given to someone else. Don't know if they mean someone else on a list or to someone without a preorder. Not that I will be leaving it 48 hours anyway.

To be honest, I would be the same, but once I am told I am getting one on launch day, I am getting more and more excited as the time approaches and would be disappointed if that was taken from me. If I was told while ordering I wouldn't be getting one until closer to Christmas, I'd live.

I would definitely need it for Christmas as Santa is delivering a few things that would be pretty useless without it.
