    cheers

Im just curious to know what the problem could be. Just before the welcome screen on windows, my monitor goes black and the led light starts blinking blue, a sign of no connectivity from the gpu to the monitor. It does come back after the welcome screen is done. Maybe its a bad os install ( I did download an iso and use my memory key as a bootable device)

EU Statutory Warranty is 2 years from date of delivery. Apple got into trouble about this. http://www.apple.com/ie/legal/statutory-warranty/

Humm, my Mrs actually has one of them but it's fairly low pressure as it's designed for airbrushing cakes. Might sneak a loan of it when she's not looking and have a go! ;)

Low pressure would be good but be careful of compressors as some can spray some drops of water.

If it has a unit on the front like the one pictured it wont, thats a water trap. But if not you need to be very careful its not spitting out droplets.

I'm buying a few things from Amazon there and does anyone know if it's cheaper to let AIB handle the exhange from GBP to € or am I better off letting Amazon handle it?

I always let my bank do it as amazon always seem to have over the odds exchange rates. It doesn't make a huge difference when buying but I'd rather have the money than not.

I've been banned from using it so it's a moot point! :o

Will drop into Deals on Saturday and see if they have any.

You dont need a silver coil when using the coolant.

I would suggest getting a pump top for the D5.That will allow you to use compression fittings.
    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-209-EK&groupid=962&catid=2141&subcat=2143

1Lt. of the coolant should be more than enough.

You only need 8 fittings (2 for res/pump/rad/block).
You may need 45 or 90 degree fittings if you need to make tight turns.Work out your loop layout before ordering.

I use (7/16 - 5/8) 16/11mm Tubing so not 100% sure about the sizes you need for compression/tubing.

Also how are you mounting the rad?

Something like this is great for filling and draining loops.

You should make your own thread as this may get lost in here :P

Plan on mounting the rad in the roof of the case.Just started a separate thread as I will definitely be needing a lot of advice a long the way.Me and plumbing do not get a long very well together.

I was confused, I taught the 800 version was the cheap version :P. My watercooling alone has set me back 1600 so far and i'm not finished :P. I only wish I could have finished my loop for 800 :)

1600  I wish I had that sort of money to spend in general not just on watercooling loops

Swap out the Coolstream rad for an Alphacool NexXxoS (as well as Game4it's suggestions) and you're good to go.

Grrrr.....just realized that I got sent lower-spec RAM than I ordered

Paid for 1600 MHz xmp and got 1333 MHz instead. I bought it late last year so I can't even lodge a complaint at Amazon. Not that I'd expect to return or exchange after this long, I just want to vent.

How much of a difference does faster RAM make in real life? My impression is that it's very slight except in special benchmarks.

For every day use or gaming it's irrelevant unless you are using APU.
For professional use it's whole different story.

Not the best video as it benchmarked games in GPU bound environments, a place where you're not likely to see any benefit at all from RAM (that's why we saw NO benefit across the board within the margin of error).

name me few games that are RAM speed dependent, please. Something that would make a difference between 1333 and 1600 would be more preferable.

sc2 is one where there is a difference and i believe BF4 shown a bit of a difference between ram

Okay, that's pretty much what I thought. On the plus side, I was lucky to buy that RAM when prices were 50% lower. How can it be double what it was last year?!

Your terminology is kind of loaded. Me and a friend have benched up to 15% differences in minimum frame rates in sc2 (which is largely CPU bound in the mid to late game). I think BF4 RAM speeds affect it too. I'm not saying hugely or anything, just that there are benefits to be seen.

its definitely that the ram is the lower speed, not that its just running at lower speed (motherboard limit/setting etc)? remember nearly getting stung by something similar with motherboard limitation

The ram is definitely lower speed. I pulled the sticks and checked the part numbers. That also explains why I wasn't seeing any XMP options in the bios. The sticks I got aren't XMP, while the ones I ordered are.
