Not in this thread yet. Funny that you don't address the rest, at least you're honest.

Ah, we are suspending habeas corpus, my silence convicts me.

So would you like to explain how exactly watching The Sopranos or playing GTA (originally primarily made by a UK company don'tchaknow) somehow undermines a dislike or distaste for actual (i.e., real-life) gun culture and high murder rates?

I don't suppose too many PETA advocates enjoy bullfighting.

Most people simply consume the faux violence without this self-righteous bleating about how terrible the entire US culture has become. Not seeing the hypocrisy? Oh well, never mind. Dexter is on next.

Do you actually check anything you say or do you just presume to be right?

Did you willingly ignore the word "developed" from the sentence you quoted?

The US is 12th in the list and NONE of the countries above it are developed economies!

I'm actually just throwing something back at CZX he has a habit of trying to do to me.

The weirdo follows me around boards posting "Seaneh voted for Sein Feinn" as if it has any ****ing relevance to the price of turnips.

What do you only care about developed countries? More people die in developing countries so more outrage, no?

Bullfighting as an example of fictional violence? What a retarded thing to say.

    No it's not.

Which of Honduras, El Salvador, Jamaica, Swaziland, Guatamala, Colombia, South Africa, Brazil, Panama, Uruguay and Mexico are developed economies?

Brazil is a rapidly developing economy but still has massive poverty, lack of access to education, etc, etc, etc, it's still a long way off being a developed economy.

I also said guncrime, not gun-deaths.

But sure, you just go on ahead trying to stir the topic the direction you want it instead of the direction it's actually going.

As for using PETA as an example of how people should follow their "principles", well, keep banging that drum if you like.

What direction would that be Seanie?

Are you finally going to tell me what my agenda is?

Anything but debating the realities of gun laws (or lack thereof) in the US and the effect it has on America's murder rate and American society as a whole.

Because, well, that's a slam dunk on the side of "gun control works".

That list is death rate, not number of deaths, so population is irrelevant.

You poor poor fella....you obviously have severe reading and understanding difficulties.

Where have you seen me see anything along those lines? If you'd been paying attention you'd have actually seen me say I don't agree with the gun laws in the US at all.

Would you like me to go find the quote for you?

    Population size is always relevant

While I wouldn't necessarily agree with gun's being quite so available in the US I don't subscribe to the idea that all Americans are gun-toting-bloodthirsty-lunatics just waiting for the first opportunity to shoot someone.

What would you know about US gun laws, sure I just had to school you on them.

So tell me, what's the correlation between gun laws and murder rate? Chicago and Detroit have some of the strictest gun controls and one of the highest murder rates in the US.

If you take the EU as a whole, it's over twice the population of the US.

But as another poster stated, it's per 100,000 people, not total volume, so population is irrelevant.

You schooled me on background checks for handguns, big ****ing whoop.

The 3 states with the highest murder rates have some of the laxest ownership laws, so that kind of torpedoes your argument.

    Hmmmm....possibly.

However look at the centers of where all the gun crime occurs.
Then look at the population density of those areas.

    I don't think it's quite that simple.
