Have a go with a neighbours or friends first, they are a fairly agricultural thing. But even if you drop it in the slurry tank, you can completely dissemble using only a nail or piece of wire, or even a tooth-pick. Wash under the tap, and away you go again.

So nobody's interested in the scales!:D
Its gonna be a big improvement on my previous method of drafting for sale.
    1) Lift lamb in a bear hug. (watch out for the head-butt)
    2) Grunt = ready for mart
    3) No grunt = leave for next week.

Side by side Baikal is a dirty donkey kick of a yoke, I can bet I know who sold it you as well. I've the semi auto, heavy so it soaks up any kick.

The stuff people throw away....... got this Ritchie sheep scales in the local scrap metal yard. Would have been baled up the next morning. Was missing the front gate and the clock. €25 for the crate, €5 for a new bearing, which is used as a roller allowing the crate move up and down, €25 for a scales from ebay.co.uk, and the rest from stuff lying about. Total €55 plus welding rods, disk etc.
And a pair of wheels off an old pressure washer.

Shotgun and shovel in the background.. are you starring in Love/Hate or something like it?:D

Due to recession we apologise that warning shots can no longer be issued

Christ, they'd be no one leaving horses in your field, if you had one of those.

    gates doubled up
    jcp1.jpg
    four gates closed
    kk89.jpg
four opened .. they open a lot more than shown here
    hod8.jpg
    ahrg.jpg
hinges relocated to suit older model trailer

had to reverse the gates around .. new ones i got are wider and different place for hinges but all in all after 2 hrs it came together ... result no more pallets or extra man needed .... can be opened as standard or double gates and doesnt slow down the closing of the first gate as the second gate hangs on outside .

Now that's some great guntering. Bit of thinking required to offset hinges.

Still taking up a few vital inches when closed. Could you have them that you could unhook and hang on the side?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,701 ✭✭✭moy83

Thats a deadly job altogether ren . If you were to do it for someone what would you charge ? You could get a few PMs for that work :D

there only taking one and a half more inches of space than 2 gates were believe it or not as outside gate fits kinda into the ramp. But you are right sometimes that the inch you need but to be honest i dont really need to wedge trailer as outfarms are only 3 miles away .

id say you probably could have them in such a way to hang on side of trailer handy enough there Muckit

Went home yesterday evening to find the ould lad and the neighbour not too happy turned out that the lovely piece of baler twine (which i hate )which was older than myself broke resulting in a swinging gate and the passenger door from the neighbours jeep with a fine big dent in it :o.....spent half an hour this morning with a piece of chain and a few spring fixing and a few clips and sorted the baler twine problem :D.... just though it might save ye a few quit fixing something that could have been avoided so easily and cheaply especially coming the dark and windy winter months .
