Today I took a leaf out for a test drive.
Well equipped with gadgets. Good room inside, the back was roomy enough with good height. Seats were ok.
Build quality was good, though nothing fancy.
It drove as expected, steering was very light. The lack of sound takes a bit of getting use to. The power wasn't much but you shouldn't expect it to be.

It is worth thinking about as a second car for us, though the figures will need to add up first.
Do what we all did as kids with our bikes - stick a few ice-pop sticks near the brakes so they will clack off the wheels. At least then the pedestrians you knock down will not be able to claim they did not hear you coming. :pac:

The road is in bits, it literally has lumps taken out of it that you can't avoid.
Not saying that is so that the snipers can get a better shot when you slow down.

Its basic enough really just a triangle with slightly curved sides rotating around a circular chamber. Each side of the triangle is slightly different which causes less area between the 3 triangle wall and cylinder wall. So as it spins around the smaller area causes the fuel air mixture to compress and then the spark plug sparks when it most compressed. The most ingenious part of the engine is it has no valves so can rev higher. Where as normal engines revs are restricted by how quick the valves can open and close. It's probably a crap explanation it's easier to describe with the wankeling animation.
    FYP. 2nd last word btw.

I suppose nobody is around Ballsbridge at 10pm later who would like to jump start my new* reliable* car.

Just managed to steal my own car keys through my letterbox, which were barely visible about 10ft inside the hall. Had locked myself out and fashioned a rod from bamboo canes, duck tape and a tiny screwdriver from the greenhouse.

Won't be leaving them there again!

This is giving me flashbacks. I attempted to do engineering wayyy back. Thank fck I dropped out. Otherwise I'd probably have no job now.

My parents wanted me to be an accountant, my career guidance teacher wanted me to do engineering. Their interest in my becoming an engineer waned somewhat when I managed to blow a hole in the chemistry lab ceiling during a legitimate class experiment and almost caused the heavily pregnant teacher to go into early labour :D

Ach the road I live on is currently closed just up from my house.

There is a GIANT hole the size of one lane in it, about 15 feet wide with mounds of earth all around it.

Did ya leave it unstarted all week while you were away? And how do you know that it now needs jumpstarting?

Odd looks I'd reckon with you attempting that :D

I may try that tonight at 11-12pm!

No one from here will be around to save you when you are arrested :D

Am just about to order the spark plugs for my car, then send it off for it's mega service next week :)

@stheno the battery was fooked last week when I picked it up but I had nowhere I could buy one so I had to take a chance. I'd be amazed if it starts when I get back. I've a set of jump leads in the boot. I'm not sure if the insurance company will send someone out at 10 to start it for me.

They prioritise women, get your Oh to ring. I've only ever rang them during the day though! The alfa does not like being left unstarted, and goes into mega flat mode if I do that.

Failing that I don't think the OH and myself have any plans this evening apart from shopping, so we might be around.

They surely will call out, if I was anyway close I'd nip out!
Surely there'll be someone near by :)

Roll it and knock it into gear at speed.

I've often jump Started a car on my own by pushing it with leads etc.

Just thankfully no cars parked in front or behind me

It's only if somebody is in the area. I wouldn't ask/expect anyone to go out of their way.

@Stheno that's a very kind offer but I couldn't as or expect you to travel that far. However thank you very much. Sadly I've had to leave the OH in Scotland. She has another 7 months here.

@kopper I forgot to see if someone would be at home.

Ba would be waiting at least an hour for them to call out.

Actually, I've just remembered my very first date with the OH.
We met for coffee before I went to some fancy do in the Mansion House.
I parked in Stephens Green and went off for the coffee and onto the gig in the Mansion House.

Came back at around 11pm to discover I'd left the chuffing lights on and the battery was flat as a pancake and had the rescue people out fairly quick as it happens. Was waiting about half an hour, then they arrived with the magic machine thing they have and off I went.

At the time I was driving a C5

That's the issue really. I will have been travelling since 2 today until 9 when I reach the car. On top of that I'd like to drive to my home place in Tipp tonight so I can visit home before going back to work. I'll be tired and pissed off.

Can ya not borrow a booster pack from someone, or better again buy one? Think they're about €100 in Halfords. It's not like you won't get any use out of it! :pac:

Lol I'm on a bus near Fife. I don't think I'll be able to get one or be able to smuggle it through security. "Yes officer its a Nokia 3210. Don't they look huge when you see them now"

    Hi guys,

We received an email from Tyreland regarding posts made about their business. They've asked us to post the following on their behalf:

All businesses (not just Tyreland) that operate out of the Clarehall site are currently closed. This closure is to do with a problem regarding the lease on the premises and nothing whatsoever to do with Revenue or tax issues of any kind.

The closure is temporary and I can confirm that we will be trading from these premises again on Monday 11th November.

The 3 other depots, all of which are owned by Tyreland Ltd, are running as usual.

If anyone has any questions regarding this, please PM me.

    Thanks,
    Nicola
