    This is a question asked on a dating website I signed up to. And out of all the profiles I've viewed (a lot), 99% of the women say yes.

    Tbh I find this very surprising. Is this just an Irish thing? I can't imagine such a high percentage of American women saying yes. Is this more cultural, rather than race?

    I can't say how many men say yes, I don't look at those profiles. :)

    It's not exactly racist, given that sexual selection is the one area in which we should be discriminating.

    However, you'd be an eejit to cut off so many options before they can even be presented to you.

    As an Irish woman I am more inclined towards asian / oriental looking men. I'd say women are saying that through some fear of predators so yeah that's probs racist. But also anyone is entitled to have their own preference...

    The question itself is quite racist. If anything I think it should ask what race do you find most attractive. I don't see anything wrong with that. It's personal preference. Like I find green eyes really endearing. You should be able to say well actually I want the big black dee and people shouldnt take offence from it (though that may be kinda offensive but not in a racist way).

    At the end of the day these sites are trying to find you your best match so you have to have room to be as honest as possible. But hey I'm ranting and frustrated because my porridge blew up in the microwave...

    You should always cook porridge on the stove. :)

    No it's not racist. It's just a way of shortening the odds on your matches. They also ask if you would go out with someone who is carrying a few extra pounds.

    In the search options, you can put in your preferences for age range, hair colour, height, religion etc.

    Everyone has their own personal physical preferences or type. I have my own very specific physical type. I have however found that this goes out the window when I meet someone who has certain non-physical traits.

    I now have a new saying! Although I prefer Korean and Japanese women to Chinese but I wouldn't say know to all 3 at the same time.

    Do they also ask what do you like in a woman? Supposedly they dont see "my d***" as an appropriate answer.

    My preference is milky white skin, I don't like sallow or dark skin colour. Asian woman can be quiet attractive. I'm quiet partial to Japanese women.

    Me neither, mostly. I don't know why, it's kinda weird. I have never got women going on about gorgeous Spanish fellas, or whatever. The Javier Bardems etc of this world do nothing for me. I fancy pasty lookin' guys, with light eyes.

    Most of the OK Cupid questions are pretty reasonable though, and I think that one is too. It's an instant way of filtering out half the site's users that you are realistically probably not going to go for.

    The reason they phrase the question that way is so they can match people who answered the same way.

    Otherwise it would match a white man who says he prefers black girls with a white girl who likes black guys.
