No you cant, there're all already downloaded on system and you can only favourite them . Alternatively there's the opera tv store app which is pretty restricted.

invest in a Raspberry Pi / SD Card / HDMi cable / micro USB power supply (5v 1amp)- you might have an old phone charger which will do.
You should be able to get the lot for <€65 from Radionics

Flash the SD card with Openelec - its really simply.
You simply copy a file onto the SD card, but you will need an SD card reader which is on most Laptops, or a cheap SD card RW.

You will then have a full working XBMC distro on your TV and a portal to all the goodies that XBMC has to offer.
The TV remote on your lovely new TV will work out of the box with your new setup.

    advanced setup:
If you can invest a bit more and get your hands on a USB 3.0 stick then I have a a preconfigured image of Openelec (XBMC) with many good add-ons pre installed.

You can then use the USB stick for storage and just use the SD card for booting the Rpi.

Using this setup you get a lean/mean really fast and responsive XBMC running on the Rpi.

And this would be running off a computer not the tv?

Yes. when you say 'computer' it would be a small device (Raspberry Pi) hanging off the back of the TV (good oul Velcro)

I have mine setup so when i start the TV it boots up the Pi/XBMC and when i power down the TV it shuts down the Pi.

I find myself rarely using the native apps on the TV as trust me when you get your head into XBMC it has so much more to offer, and the Pi (running Openelec) and this TV are made for each other.
I have configured many XBMC distros using many different hardware configs, but even from the remote commands to screen refresh nearly everything works out-of-the- box with the above combination.

If you are new to XBMC then Google and Youtube are your friend.

One caveat is that I would not recommend using Wifi on the Pi.
I have my device hard-wired back to my router.

mods:sorry this is gone way off topic. I think we should take any more discussions over to HTPC & Media Centre

Does your set have a satellite tuner built in? I bought 32" version (32W653A) from Argos but DTT tuner only..

Mine does, wasnt expecting it, a v pleasant surprise, (42")

It picks up the satellite HD channels too so my old Sky digibox joins my attic based electronics museum.

I also changed the guide from guide only to guide + search. In this mode it gathers channel info in the back ground and gives a better view of what programmes are coming up next.

Anyone else use DLNA to stream media form the network?
Doesn't seem great on this tv. If I pause playback, it won't play from the same point. If I try to forward through the video, it doesn't work either. Not very good compared to my 2 yr old Samsung

    DLNA?

Got this TV, thanks OP! Sat tuner was a nice surprise.

Just wondering what the easiest/free/cheap way to do a screen share is? Have an iPad, macbook and nexus 4 and would like to be able to do screen shares to watch stuff like the filmon.tv app on the iPad. Any thoughts?

You'll probably also find that it won't play some bitrates and audio codecs ironic seing as sony originated the dlna idea, sony suck at software because they can't fire the people they don't need and hire some decent progammers.

I was looking at that one before and the only thing which seems to let it down is the viewing angles. If you're going to be viewing it head on the whole time it shouldn't make much odds.

That price is down as running until January so you've plenty of time to make up your mind.

Out of stock everywhere it seems, was looking at an LG in Powercity as an alternative. http://www.powercity.ie/?par=10-13-42L540V&pages=1&prod=42L540V&brands=LG&image=

Saorview & sat tuner plus Powercity have a printable coupon on their site for €10 off per every €100 spent in store.

    Anyone get playback from HDD?
When I connected it up, it just gave an option to record and wipe the drive. I tried a USB stick, no options for playback were available.
