Volvo school buses from the 90s/00s

    I'm talking about the ones that's had the engine block right at the front door, and they weren't used for anything other than countryside school runs. I heard that those buses were all from Singapore, BE bought the fleet en masse & distributed them around the country.

    Those things were like Land Rover Defenders, you feel like they'd climb mountains. I wonder what happened to them? I always wondered if anyone converted one to a camper bus. I'd love to see one, I reckon it'd be epic.

    The infamous VS, bought from Singapore for £1000ea and came with non-standard wheels ans tyres which had to be replaced at a cost of £1500 per vehicle, no heaters or demisters. And considered to be the CIE equivalent of the army deafness claim.

    Yep, I remember these like it were yesterday. VS48 (81-D-1550) took me to and from secondary school from 1997-2002. Very loud and leaky. Were any of them preserved or retained?

    Jesus, they were awful sheds of things. Had one for primary school. Cold and wet and stank.

    Were those horrible Lynx things the modern equivilent of that? Well, I say modern. They popped up in the late 00's from the UK eh? Effing terrible things too.
