Strongly rumoured that Cunningham has Eugene Cloonan (Athenry) and Damien Curley (Kiltormer) lined up with Tom Helebert gone. New management will have to be ratified by the county board delegates I guess but looks like this is only a matter of going through the motions. Hopefully they might be able to work some magic in 2014.

so tonights the night lads and lassies.......

Can anyone see AC going or is it a forgone conclusion that he gets a third year? Also, will Cloonans semi selfishness as a player count against him? not my opinion, but it was pointed out to me that it wasnt the best feature of him when he donned the jersey.

    A few questions...

What is Cloonan bringing to the table here?

Is Tom Helebert part of the package?

I think we'd have heard a lot more rumblings if AC was getting the boot. Granted last year was an absolute disaster I still think his first year warrants a chance to redeem himself.

Cloonan in for Helebert would be interesting to say the least though.

    latest from this mornings indo..........

Anthony Cunningham will meet with Galway Hurling Board officials this week to finalise plans for 2014, which will complete the final year of the three-year term he signed up to initially.

After a disappointing championship, manager Cunningham lost Mattie Kenny as a coach and selector and is in the process of finalising a replacement, in addition to sorting out other elements of his back-room team.

Cunningham's future was subject to a review after two years and that has now been completed, clearing the way for his ratification for a third year on Monday, November 4.

Tom Helebert has remained on as part of the management team
    .

So Staying on, but no announcement as to replacements..........to be honest, id have thought the lads would have been in pre-season already........two month curfew after you get knocked out, but then again the county championship fixtures put pay to that idea.

When do county hurling panels start on their pre-season work usually?
No surprise that Helebert is still involved. A question about him, has he managed a club team? I know he was coach to Clarinbridge and from looking on he seemed to have a big say on the sideline during matches with them.
