    I see that it's a 3.1GB download - my 30 day limit is 10GB, I'm wondering whether it's worth downloading it?
    Phone a friend !

Get someone else to download the ISO

This will give you 37MBs data transfer speed ;)

yeah, I had it on high DPI under 8 and bumped it up again with 8.1. Thing is it does'nt really make much difference to apps. The metro/modern apps will still have small black font's on a brilliant white background, I don't have bad eyesight but it still sucks. There's an option to make app fonts "bigger" which makes very little difference. It just shows how straitjacketed the modern UI is, not that I use it much anyway

Yeah, I've tried it a bit more this evening. Native metro apps seem to work ok for me, but apps that are just a wrapper around a browser showing a website are not, the text is tiny. IE 11 seems to be the same in general, it doesn't seem to adjust with the DPI settings.

I had BSODs when I tried to install it. Decided to do a refresh since my 3-4 hours on a chat client with Microsoft support basically ended in them trying to sell me the 8.1 disc to do an install. They didn't even mention that as a possibility and even when I mentioned it to them they said that their support assistants had exhausted all possible avenues!!

So I went ahead and did the refresh. Never bothered to do a backup stupidly! I meant to backup my Steam folder with all 12-15 games that I had installed.

All went well. Loaded up the refreshed 8.0 and there was my Steam folder in the Windows.old folder. I sighed a breath of relief since I really didn't want to download some of them again. with some of my savegames too.

Windows.old is simply a backup of your Windows 8 profile (Documents, Music, Desktop, Pictures etc.). Once your happy your not missing anything delete away :)

I went ahead and installed 8.1 and completely forgot to move the Steam folder out of the windows.old folder. 8.1 went ahead and overwrote the windows.old folder with another one with almost nothing in it.:mad:
