Has anyone got a call from XtraVision yet regarding bundles? Should I call them and tell them what bundle I want with my pre order to be safe??

In fairness if people are only ordering now and do not end up getting one till after Christmas they only have themselves to blame, they have had nearly 9 months to put a pre order in.

Not really, to be honest. Not everyone is a hardcore gamer, clued into dates, following game industry news, etc.

Not everyone knew they needed to pre-order months in advance. It's still 5 or 6 weeks to release day. I can see why people think that it's quite reasonable to order one this far away from launch. In fairness, how many things do you have to pre-order months in advance?

It happened with the PS2 and the PS3

PS2 was launched nearly 14 years ago. PS3 was launched nearly 7 years ago. Current, mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, may not have had children asking for a console back that long ago, etc.

Also, wasn't the PS3 launched in March? Santa didn't arrive for another 9 months, so any delay wasn't as big of a problem.

Hopefully everyone who wants before Christmas will get one, regardless of when they pre-ordered/order.

I hope everyone gets it as well, but stores like Gamestop had great big posters in store and on their windows since February saying people could pre order, then closer to the cut off date they had even bigger ones telling people they would not get a launch day console if they had not ordered before the 20th of July, you would have to have been pretty blind not to have seen them. It has been all over games magazines and games websites as well about cut off dates and possible shortage and kids read these and would of had enough cop to pester their parents to go in and see what the story was, I know when I was that age I would of, it has been mentioned in papers from the Star to the Indo and even Ray D'arcy has done a few pieces on his morning radio show on it.

I was referring to the fact that both the PS2 and PS3 suffered from vast shortages on their launch, that is why I pre ordered back in February, the demand for the PS4 has doubled in comparison to the PS3 launch.

I am more in the camp of it does not effect me if others have pre ordered in time. I have and will be playing my PS4 29th Nov 2013 and thats all that matters!

I am old enough to know you don't always get what you want. That was just a one in a long line of other issues I have had with GS!

My local game store, did not have a sign up. Also, you know, not everyone pays attention to what Gamestop have in their windows.

My own parents asked me what the PS3 was the other day, nevermind the PS4. When I mentioned the PS4, they asked if it was a hint for a Christmas present (obviously not knowing of a possible lack of availability, or cost, involved!). Two of my friends who regularly game on the console asked me what the story was with getting a PS4.

I can assure you all the people mentioned have fully functioning eye sight.

Have to agree with v3ttel. I had to convince my friend to pre order in September. He reckoned that he could walk in and get one of the shelf before Christmas. He thought I was blowing things out of proportion but when he got talking to the staff in the shop he realized his error.
Have to go into GS tomorrow and see what my options are regarding the Watchdogs bundle I had ordered.

Did anybody who chose a bundle with amazon actually have their order updated in "My Orders" yet?

All I got was the one confirmation page, no email, no update to order (although it did say it may take six days for order to be updated).

Nope. I originally went for the Watch Dogs bundle. Changed it to the bundle with Killzone, extra controller & camera as soon as the news of the Watch Dogs delay broke.

My order hasn't been updated, but I think they said it would be within 7 days. I'd feel a lot happier if it was updated, especially seeing as I had to fart around with changing my original choice.

It should be fine anyway, but I'll be a bit nervous until I actually open the PS4 box on the day. Earlier in the year they sent me the wrong delivery completely (basically, stuck my label on someone elses parcel)..... and then when I contacted customer service, the item I ordered was out of stock so all they could do was refund me :pac: They were very nice about it, and it was probably a 1 in a 1,000 thing, but please no mess ups with the PS4 orders, lads!

Once got sent a empty box from Amazon with my name and address on it, had not actually ordered anything from them which made it all the more strange.

I've seen on the net where people that preordered from Amazon months ago are getting emails for PS4 bundles? Did anyone here preorder and get these emails? Just wondering if i wil receive such a thing, Thanks

Was in the same boat, was told Assasins Creed or put money towards the PS4.

Has anyone heard anything from Gamestop about the watch dogs bundle situation. Last they told me was that I could wait awhile and see if another bundle will replace it. Heard nothing back yet so kinda thinking will I just go for the killzone 1.

It did get the right publicity in the right places but again you would need to be paying attention to these things and indeed understand the relevance of what is being said. Yes they may have been advertising that you can pre order for many months but would this have led people to realise that there may be a shortage if they didn't? (I actually didn't realise you could order as far back as February - and I am in the loop)

I know many parents (including my wife) who don't know anything about gaming themselves who would never look into a gamestop or Smyths window, wouldn't even walk past one very often, and would not pay attention if the Playstation was mentioned on the radio or TV. I would say that my wife would not even know there was a new playstation on the horizon only for me harping on about it.

Also, lets now forget that many parents would not even know it is what the child wants for Christmas until around October at which time it could already be too late.

I remember when the Wii came out all those years ago. I'd preordered it about 6 months or so beforehand in Smyths in Blanch. So I went in to collect it, receipt in hand. No problems. As I was waiting for my system this bloke comes up to the counter:

Customer:Ah yeah, I'll take one of those Nintendo Why yolks.
Staff:Have you prebooked it sir? there's a 3 month waiting period
    Customer:Wha??!! For a f*cking gay-yem? F*cking nerds!

Have the KZ Mega ordered meself and only 20 quid left to payoff. The latest delays have taken the shine off a little (I wanted Watch_Dogs more than KZ but really couldn't pass up the mega bundle as I did want KZ too). But, once into November I'd say I'll get more stoked again

... or maybe every day a new empty box arrives, each one slightly bigger that the day before, it starts off as a joke, each one fitting neatly into the other and being stacked away, not taking up much room, each just pushing the edges of sanity that little bit further, he rings Amazon and they deny all knowledge of the boxes, yet they keep coming, getting ever larger and larger, eventually unable to fit them into his house until one day, the world ends. (I probably need to work out some of the finer plot points).

    HEADSUP ON VITA OFFER.

I just went to Argos and got a Vita 3g/wifi with Killzone ,Virtua tennis and an 8gb memory card for €179.99 . At the moment Argos have an offer that if you spend over €100 you will get a €10 voucher to use on your next purchase . In the argos book it says that you can get 25% off a PS+ account voucher (1yr membership) . The ps+ voucher is €48 . I told the girl that when I tried to reserve the voucher with the bundle online the systen would not allow it and it was quoting me a crazy price. She checked out the ps+ voucher in the argos book and seen that it says 25% off with bundles and went to the manager to see what she could do about the system error ;) . After talking to the manager she told me to pay for the bundle (€179.99) and then she would reduce the voucher price -25% (€48-€36) and then let me apply the - €10 voucher I had just got from the purchase of the Vita. Total cost €206.

I went straight over to Gamestop and traded VT for €5 and added it to my store credit (I now have €34 towards ps4 accessories) and went to smyths and got €22 for KZ (I now have €44 credit with them).

    Fricken sweet deal.

    To sum up ,
I got the 3G Vita ,8gb memory card and 1yr subscription to PS+ for €179 . I put in the code for PS + when I got home and have 14 free games to dl today ,5 of them on the Vita.

    Happy days
    :).

ps, The vita seems to be working fine with my 48 sim... I'le make sure later though.

Jaysus, if they are doing first come first served I would hate to be a customer or an employee THAT day!
