Do speed camera vans work both ways?

Hi all I was driving on the road and around the corner their was a mobile speed camera van parked. I was doing about 115km on a 100km road once I saw the van I slowed down under 100km and drove passed. The front was facing me and I was thinking do they check for speed both ways or is it just the back of the van? Thanks for…

Camera used for speed detection in in back window of van. It can detect speed and capture pictures of cars coming towards or going away from back of van.
