He'll have 2 free transfers next week unless he makes more than one transfer this week.

Walcott won't be back for a couple of more weeks and despite the battle for places I'll expect him to be first choice for certain, he's got something nobody else at Arsenal(possibly the league) has in his pace and clever use of it, he'll be a weapon in tandem with Ozil.

Am I right in thinking I dont need to rush my WC and can carry it over into the new year?
If your team ain't broke why fixing it? If you can save your WC 'till late in the season you'll have a huge advantage on most of the players.

You can play 2 wildcards a season. One wildcard can be played at any time. The January Wildcard can only be used after Gameweek 20 starts (1 Jan 11:30) until Gameweek 23 ends (1 Feb 11:30).

Sounds like I can bag it up until whenever I want to me?

Yes you can. As I said in another topic I did that the last 2 years (for a top 20k finish both times) to take advantage of end of season DGWs. I chose a different tactic this year by playing it early (1st international break to benefit from the price rises and fix my team immediately). I'll see which strategy is better after GW38 :P.
I know someone who did that and the wildcard used in January took his regular one not his transfer window one.

He might have been spoofing or used it the wrong day though.
I imagine he did something wrong as the whole point of the second wildcard is to have it available at any time.

He migthn't. He definitely did. In fairness he certainly played it a week too early or a week too late :o...

Yeah but don't forget you can save up to 1 FT. Once it is saved (i.e. a week without transfer) you can do 1 FT a week and always carry your saved FT from GW to GW.

Any word on Walcott coming back, and will he be an automatic starter once fit?

Physio room saying 2 weeks. Wenger talking of rotation is worrying but they have plenty of options in midfield so it could be very likely that some of the MF'ers are rested surrounding Champ League games especially.

Assuming one up front for Arsenal for the foreseeable future, Wenger has 8 or 9 options to fit into a 5 man midfield.
Walcott may have a slight advantage in terms of not being dropped in the fact that he is closest thing to a second striker from those midfielders options.

Seems like a sideways move for the sake of it emmet, Enrique is 100% certain to start tomorrow, there has to be a bit of doubt around Johnson but I expect he will start, seeing as you have the transfers anyway would you not just upgrade Wittingham for one week only, you'll still be in the same position next week to do the other transfers you mentioned as you'll still have two free transfers, Michu could be a good bet for this week.

    It pretty much is this.

Or I could do the Wittingham -> Oscar move this week, and do the downgrade and swap next week if Johnson plays.

    Probably a better sequence actually.

Ben Arfa moved from -73 to -86 already today.

To hold on, take the price drop, and make my planned transfer (shawcross or whittaker for a southhampton df). Or take a 4 point hit and transfer him as well.

Any suggestions who to bring in, 1.0 in bank, midfeilders are Paulinho, Ramsey, Michu, Silva, and Ben Arfa.

    Best Arsenal team:

    Szczesny
    --- Sagna - Mertesacker - Koscielny - Gibbs

    Ramsey -- Flamini/Arteta
    Ozil
    -- Walcott
    Cazorla
    Giroud

Bench: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Vermaelen, Monreal, Arteta/Flamini, Wilshere, Rosicky, Podolski, Chamberlain, Gnabry, Bendtner.

Podolski had already lost his place last season, he will cover wide left and Giroud. Wenger tends to like one direct wide player(Theo or Podolski) plus one technical wide player(Cazorla, Wilshere, Rosicky on occasion) who drifts inside and helps the midfield dominate.

One of Arteta/Flamini starts. Wilshere is kinda filling in wherever needed right now, cant see Wenger starting him in a midfield 2 unless we get injuries. Think Wenger is just trying to get him through a full season without injuries to get his best form back, he's not a certain starter. With Ozil as the attacking mid and Cazorla returning, we need a strong midfield base and Wilshere just doesnt provide those characteristics.

    Versus Norwich it should be:

Szczesny, Sagna or Jenks, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Arteta, Flamini, Ramsey, Wilshere, Ozil, Giroud.

Liverpool/Newcastle clashes are the 2nd highest scoring games in the EPL.Perhaps I've cursed it but I'd keep Suarez.

    Really good insight thanks

Gonna keep an eye out for rotation/resting though, especially in midfield considering the options. See Wengers comments:

    http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/wenger-my-approach-to-team-selection

I hope Ramsey is picked but I am now wondering if there is a real chance he could be rested for Dortmund on Wed!:( He came off early vs West Brom with a slight strain, and both him + Giroud looked very tired IMO

I hope Wenger doesn't become a tinkerman with his midfield, but when everyone is fit, with such options, it could become an issue for us

Schurrle missing for Chelsea increases Oscar's chances of starting.

    Ashley Cole also missing.

I presume it's how close he is to dropping in price. Barfa's now at 98.7% to a drop so all but a given that he'll drop .1 to 7.2 by morning.

Total fpl have left Ramsey and Ozil out of their predicted Arsenal lineups which have just gone up in the past few hours.

Do you think it's likely that even if eve continues to be in good form, that Ramsey may have outlived his usefulness as an FPL scoring machine once Cazorla and Walcott are back as above? I'd suspect he may not maraud forward as much. I still think Walcott will be the man to have once he returns.

I have 3 issues I need to resolve:

    1. Kos or Mickey T?: It's the first time I've considered not starting Turner but I'm wary over trusting Kos who I plan on getting rid of soon and Turner did score at the Emirates last season too. For many it's a no-brainer.

    2. AJ or Ravel?: Both came in this week. I'm having serious buyers remorse over AJ but I might risk him this week over Ravel. Michu, Ozil and Townsend (by being a strong differential) pick themselves.

    3. Captaincy?: Lukaku, Rooney, Suarez, Michu and Ozil all have their hands up. I've a hankering for Michu but Lukaku and Suarez are niggling at me.

Lads who would ye start between Brady and Amalfitano?

Similar issue except for the first sub spot. Good chance Brady will start on the bench rather than the pitch, so I'm going for Amalfitano.

    Mr P --

Kos (as likely to score as MT, and at home)
AJ (if youre ever going to risk him, its now. He'll probably start)
    Lukaku (follow the polls)

Maybe i'm crazy but i'm benching Ramsey for Moses

Really don't to get a 1 point special if he is rested, which looks likely, Newcastle missing Collochini so they will be light at the back....

Just hope to god Moses starts
