When I was in Budapest I visited them! The boyfriend at the time loved it. And then I got food poisoning and he got arrested and we had to bribe the police:eek:
Please, do go on! What was he arrested for?

A dwarf calf from last year, spent 3 weeks stomach tubing her when she was a calf until she would suck. Never thought she would come to anything but shes about 300kg now!!

Funny story re Budapest. I was there havin a quite pint in a pub when a stag party from Cork arrived in, rough enough. One of the lads I was chatting to had been in a fight the night before. Cops arrived, bashed him over the head with a trunchen. Lugged him off to a 'big house' for the night where the staff robbed all his money and put put him in a padded cell with another gentleman, who kept pissing in the middle of the cell. He was let out the following day.

I'd say he deserved every bit of it!

Nice stock. Have you any PB? You really can't go wrong with Charolais. I went to the bull sale at the mart earlier in the year. Limousins were dancing around the ring dragging their owner around with them. In the ring nextdoor the charolais were strolling around the ring at a leisurely pace without a care in the world :).

that's more down to time spent training than breed. Some lads only try halter breaking a week before the sale.

That explains the good straws! Hard to justify any more than a tenner for a commercial cow ;)

I agree with JDI, on the char being calmer than the lim.
However I bought a young lim this year. Son of Wilodge Cerberus. Must say, never had such a calm easy to handle animal. Seems to love going into the crush. Cerberus docility figures aren't the best, so I'm giving full credit to the breeder. Very well handled and trained animal. Early life handling and management of any animal, has a significant impact, on adult temperament.

Cows were maybe too good. You'd want to be getting the likes of them in calf to justify keeping them for the winter.

We used all ai that year but for life of me couldn't tell you what he was out of as the brother was taking care of all that

28mths. You'd nearly be getting that money for 12mth old cattle. There's the difference between a good and a bad farmer
