Just got rid of my mint 03, with 80k on the clock, one for €1500. The arse has fallen out of the old E39 market

It really has, just 2 years ago those cars would have commanded well over 3k. Now they can be picked up for nothing next to nothing

Our Eastern European friends used to snap them up but not anymore...they've moved to the smaller engined A4's!

I know I say it all the time, but wouldn't that be a perfect barge for lpg conversion?

I really should research more into lpg....

Clean reliable car with plenty of tax and low mileage. I had originally posted this in bangernomics but a fellow poster kindly made me aware that it had no nct:)

60,000 miles seems questionably low for a 12 year old Avensis.

Yeah but suspiciously low !! If you'd clocked it would you not put it around 80/95 k .... Low but not as questionable ? Or is that what the clocker wants you to think ...

I reckon that if the miles were indeed genuine, if you drove that car, you would know straight away. Those cars wear miles well but a 60k mile car should jump out at you. Wear and tear inside should be minimal too.

But, I for one will never find out, as I hate those cars.

Exactly, you should have at least some idea if the miles are correct. I know that there are clocked cars out there but there is genuine low mileage cars around as well. Rare I know but they are there.

Very cool. For some reason I feel that there is just something very small wrong with it but that's not based on science or experience or expertise :p:o

Interesting old bus for €395 (could probably get a bit off), if it wasn't in the other end of the country I'd buy it myself.

I know, I paid €180 for mine in a much worse state. But at the moment I think 6 cars is plenty for me!
