Has fail sheet, and parts! Plus tax! Seems like a good deal to me...

Looks like an artists impression of an Octavia

I had one of those before and it was lively enough whilst being good on fuel. And the boot was massive. As far as i know it is the same running gear as the mazda 6 of that time. Resale value is pathetic but for 500 meh

Stoooop! I can't buy a new car 'till A) I find a new job or B) I buy all my christmas presents for the year. :p
    So little money.

I always have to wonder whether they'd take the Mazda for it.

    Straight 6. ;)
I can get quotes on the Mazda, it's just my current insurer wont take anything over 20 years old.
I'd keep the Mazda if the Almera was still alive but I'm gonna need 1 car to do all now. An E36 will hold the dogs and slide. :pac:

I payed €175 less for my almera in a better state than that.

I got quoted on a 350Z, not cheaply but that was a year ago with all the correct details, I'd say dropped a liter and the value of the car would see a better price.

Turn 23 on Sunday don't forget, being slightly older has it's advantages. :p
I'll be put on my dad's policy in the next few daysweeks and I'll do my test again. that'll help too. ;)

Well, two quotes from Xcess Direct here:

    98 323i (lied and said I have my full licence) - €2,689
    97 S14a on my prov' - €1,984

    Which to pick?

Edit: Drops to €1,534 once I get my full. :D

Voluntary excess of €500 each time but I think they have a standard €3000. Pretty miserable alright.

It will go down even more when you've built up a NCB, which you already know. S14's are nice, I'd go for that if those are the quotes, suprised that its cheaper than a 2.5 BM. Clean ones are impossible to come by, however. I'd try different brokers, I got some reasonable quotes from AXA at your age.

50mpg so I'm guessing a tenner will let you drive around for the evening no bother.

That's what the seller meant, However I think what the above poster meant was that the car will need valid nct and tax in order to be able to go for a nights spinning which will cost a good bit more than €10. :)

One of the most unscientific ways I've seen a mpg figure quoted in a while if not ever. Would think it hardly hdi if its a 96. Either that or a hdi engine was dropped into it. I know were talking a cheap as chips car but comments such as the following put me off

    "Streight trew some boooo"

Heres one for ye if theres anyone brave enough. I'm sure the state of the body is a good bargaining point but its already dirt cheap

Okay, it says 1.9 on the advert. I figured him saying HDI was because he's a spoon. 50mpg is a realistic figure in that car, I know this as I'm good friends with dgt and have seen its economy first hand.

Try and read in between the lines, I know this is a forum so everyone can have their own opinion, but the science behind me saying 50mpg is solid.

Also, that Polo is in such rag order. 250 is a stupid price, especially for the 1.4l one. You can pick up a running one with NCT for 450 due to the perceived higher tax.

Oh don't get me wrong barura, there is no doubt in my mind it will return 50 miles to the gallon, be it the hdi engine or the xud engine. What I was taking a pop at was the sellers comment - a tenner will get ye a night spinning....thats hardly a scientific comment is what I meant.

I really put the polo in for the novelty factor more than anything...theres a challenge for ye is what I sort of meant by it.

Still though if the rest of it was in half decent order it might be a better project for a chancer like myself (if I had more than 10 minutes to spare these days) than one with with engine problems for example.
