PS4 Pre-Order Thread! Where are you getting yours?

I am high up the list (or low in the list? - you get my point) in Smyths because I ordered in mid June but I am getting conflicting messages from them which is a worry.

Also does the bundle pack which I picked effect my chances. For example say Smyths get 20 bundles and I am number 15. I picked the £499 bundle and say they got 1 and two before me picked the same bundle; do I not get one at all?

All I want is a feckin PS4 so I'd hate for the bundle to effect this.

The bundles are separate, they are only getting so many in, it is not new stock either it is existing stock that has been upgraded, so if they get 5 in and your number 6 you will not get one, this also means you will not get the basic console either if they are out of bundles. Smyths in Claremorris is only getting 10 consoles in for lunch, half of them are bundles and they are meant to be getting more stock in up to Christmas, which sounds odd as you will probably only have two batches shipped this year, others here have mentioned the same thing about Smyths having very little launch day stock.

Also checked my order w amazon again on cust serv live chat and they once again told me expected del 29th. Placed order on 11/10. Said to them I heard there is a shortage but was told they will let me know if there is an issue with delivery on 29th. I have a feeling I will hear back about that or what do you think?

HN just called me. Was told they are getting x amount of consoles from Sony. They have not allocated all yet and said I will get one on release day. 99% sure. Their words: Only if the boat with consoles sink at sea will you not get one.

Spoke to them 2 hours ago.

I ordered mine on the 10th of September from Harvey Norman in Blanch and they said I will 100% get it on launch day I just have to have it all paid off before it comes out, I rang up twice and asked in store and they all said this so if I don't get it on launch day I will run amuck! ha

Smyths told me that I am guaranteed at launch so am going with that until told otherwise. I have only the message in the text they sent and then in store when I called in. What conflicting messages are you getting?

I would say if they only had say 5 killzone bundles, and 5 people before me ordered one they wouldn't have been able to allocate one to me so I would just have had to pick a different bundle (or wait).

So my guess is if they took your order for a bundle and allocated one to you, they must have enough allocated stock to cover you. Only a guess but I don't see any other logical way they could have done it.

It could easily happen, it has happened with Smyths.

That's what I was thinking,I was originally told I wouldn't get a launch day console but upgraded to a Mega bundle in GS last week,I thought them bundles were only for launch day

The girl that served me didn't really have a clue,I was shocked when she let me upgrade,so paid another €20,I first pre ordered august 30th

I was also asking about the deal to upgrade FIFA to ps4 for €15 but she didn't know anything about that either

I reckon in Smyths it is due to the fact that it is a toy store and they do not deal exclusively with games, doubt many of the staff have a interest in what they are selling and in turn do not keep themselves informed on stuff, they are just feeding you the same line they are told to.

Depends on when they pre-ordered, might sound harsh but i won't feel bad for someone who pre-ordered well after the 1st batch cut off date and are expecting a PS4 at launch.

Do genuinely feel bad for those who pre-ordered gamestop online and those who have recently been "Guaranteed" a launch PS4 from Smyths or HN. They don't seem like to know what they're in for! Even some posters here said the Staff sounded clueless!

They'll join the party at some stage anyway. 2nd or 3rd batch.

Me, you and the other launchies will be proper wasted at that stage in the partay!
