Not really. I don't want to be jumping around or anything playing games. I think it's a real gimmick. If I want to keep fit, I go to the gym. I don't lye down infront of my TV

I might be good for scanning faces into games or something along those lines though.

I am 34 now and will probably be playing the PS4 when I am 40 before a new console come out. Bouncing around in front of a camera is not cool for a 40 year old bloke who only likes playing RPGS and FPS games :rolleyes:

Like the others have said, it's a gimmick.

Have absolutely no use for it and will sell it as soon as I can.
The KZ mega bundle is ridiculously priced to say no to.

It might be a bit less of a gimmick this time around, Sony are offering funding to indie studios to come up with games for it.

Seems to be more of a curiosity until games start using it properly but there are some fun games on the kinect if they start to come across, but from what i have seen more kids things really. Still, probably worth it as part of the bundle.

it be good for kids which isn't bad just hardcore gamer thing it a gimmick when it really not.

Went back to HN in Little Island today. Changed to the KZ bundle, unfortunately they're not doing the €499 bundle, which is a shame. They said they hadn't a lot of pre-orders but they don't expect to get too many into the store at launch.

I put in an order fr d website last night to see would they promise del on 29th. Will let u know if I hear back.

Also checked my order w amazon again on cust serv live chat and they once again told me expected del 29th. Placed order on 11/10. Said to them I heard there is a shortage but was told they will let me know if there is an issue with delivery on 29th. I have a feeling I will hear back about that or what do you think?

I think people should have kept their HM preorders to themselves, they are not getting many in ( 10 in my store ) and now everyone is trying to preorder with them, if they do not go by a list, you may have shot yourselves in the foot.

For people late on the boat of preordering, when they tell you that you are guaranteed a console, it only means that you will get one if they get enough stock to cover all orders, nothing is guaranteed unless you ordered early and or high up on the lists.

Exactly! Everyone who pre orders is Guaranteed a console once their turn to get one comes around. Not necessarily guaranteed one for launch 29th Nov. If in doubt nail down retailers are you getting a Launch Day console!

Maybe, maybe not. I live next to one so I'll be queuing up first thing in the morning. Unless there's a midnight release in which case I'm ****ed.

If they are going by a list like most stores, as in the first person who ordered gets theirs first and so on and so forth, it will make no difference if you queue as you will not be able to just barge in and get one, HN have been taking preorders for months now, but people here have only coped on to it in the last week or so.

I understand that. I emailed asking what the story with it was and they emailed me back saying I'm guaranteed one for launch. Maybe they're lying but it's all I've to go by at the moment.

By all means have faith, you will get one eventually if you do not get it on launch, you will have it by the end of January or early February for sure.

I don't wanna be around a HN store on launch if they don't have enough. Especially seen as they seem to be guaranteeing launch consoles to everyone. Personally, I don't mind getting one after Christmas but I doubt everyone else feels the same as myself. Going to be some seriously angry people.

God yes Sony didn't make the mistake of going controller free. You use the camera with the move and with the dual Shock. So it's not just jumping around or fitness games. With the Ps3 you had fps, third person, rts (kilkzone, res 3, socom, sorcery, ruse etc) all used the camera.

It also uses the light bar on the dual shock to know where you are, how far so it can direct the context towards you and also for the etc vr stuff, don't forget the ps4 has the play room pre loaded on it.

The only let down for Sony last gen was the camera was really bad quality, when you see what they are doing for next gen it will blow you away.

I'm hoping to do Livestreams and Let's Plays with the Camera. PS4 can record Gameplay and input from the camera simultaneously so i think thats my primary use for it! Should be able to record Chat party audio and video so that would be good for Podcast Gaming discussions etc.

I've a few idea's for it anyway! I just hope its well implemented in the UI and the quality is very good!

Oh it will be crazy, it will be the same in all stores, especially the minority of stores not going by a list and I know some Smyths are only getting about 10-15 consoles in and they have close to 100 people strong on their lists that they guaranteed a console to.

The big problem is that most stores oversold their preorder quota, they claim that if you have ordered before the 20th of July in store or the 8th of August online that you are guaranteed a launch console, but people who ordered near the cut off point may not get one. Gamestop are not going to let you into their stores on launch day unless you have a ticket saying that you have paid your console off and have a console waiting for you in the store, the big ones are even hiring security on the door if they have a midnight release.

I know, the 8th of August was the cut off point, you can still order online with Amazon as well, but at least they have a note saying that " Due to high demand, customers who pre-ordered from August 7 may receive their consoles after release date, but will get them before Christmas. We will dispatch orders as soon as we receive sufficient stock " expect that to change as well to another later cut off date at some point soon, as it seems like only orders placed before the 1st of September will get theirs for Christmas.

Just that they are feck all games for kids on PS3 so I am hoping this might lead to something my two young lads can play...

I AM CONFUSED...

Who here is guaranteed a PS4 on launch?

I am high up the list (or low in the list? - you get my point) in Smyths because I ordered in mid June but I am getting conflicting messages from them which is a worry.

Also does the bundle pack which I picked effect my chances. For example say Smyths get 20 bundles and I am number 15. I picked the £499 bundle and say they got 1 and two before me picked the same bundle; do I not get one at all?

All I want is a feckin PS4 so I'd hate for the bundle to effect this.

I pre ordered online with gamestop 19 June and I am guaranteed a console on launch day although they will not allow online customer upgrade to a bundle offer!
Upgrading to a bundle should not mean you lose you position in the queue. Maybe email them to get a reply u can fall back on in case something goes wrong!
