So you make some wild arbitrary statements and we're just supposed to agree and add more?

Did you just get nabbed by the gardai with illegal drugs on you?

Vegetation biko, vegetation... as if that actually matters, it's still bloody illegal whatever a person chooses to call it.

Calling it vegetation though was a stroke of, well, stupidity.

It doesn't matter. If scumbags want to ban stuff for its being addictive then those scumbags should ban lots of stuff.
    Is weed addictive?
When a person who has no interest in hurting another human being is put in jail for a moral crime what is it only kidnap? Would you advocate that a child be deprived of his Dad because he choose marijuana over fermented plants? Another simple question you can't answer because of your pussy-ass conservitardism.
I'll answer your question when you answer mine. Is weed addictive?
When a person has been put in jail they have normally been convicted of a crime in a court or waiting on information regarding bail and their day in court.
Should child not be deprived of his Dad because he needed to get home after a session in the pub? Also read up the law about possession
Appeal to law fallacy. Don't make me you pull you by the nose into the enlightened zone.

Did I say it was right or wrong? However if someone is caught committing a crime should they not be charged with the crime? Simple question nothing to do with morals.
Just doing my job Sir. Can you think of a time when that lame excuse got you hanged?

So should a the gardas not do their job to uphold the law of the country? If you want a change in the law I suggest you go to law maker regarding your complain.
Why should the person who tries to deny her acces to something that she enjoys not be considered an utter scumbag?

So I guess people who prevent pedophiles from getting access to kids are scumbags? What your granny enjoys is just supporting criminal gangs.
This isn't funny. Don't try to make a living as a comedian - you'll fail miserably.
Nor should you try an make a living as a debater. The best way you can help with the legalization of weed is by not been involved in the debate.

What a cluster fvck of a thread. It's really got it all though, weed growing grannies, aliens and gay people. Bit of mention of the dole and the public sector, and this reads like a culmination of AH's finest!

For the record i support the legalization of weed but the reality is its illegal now and if you get caught using or selling it then tough you've broken the law.

If you get caught breaking the law then there's no point complaining especially when you know its illegal. If we start letting people off because they are grannies or gay aliens then society degrades into a cluster****.

Journalists and news reporters that harass the families of murder victims.

Paparazzi who will do anything to get a picture of a celebrity. They even hounded Michael J. Fox at his fathers funeral of all things.

This thread has had silly arguments on both sides. But to answer your question, long term studies in this field have concluded that recreational use of cannabis has no associated risks of "physical" addiction, in other words, your body will in no way be dependant on the substance itself(provided it is not used with tobacco obviously).

Further studies on the "mental" addiction theory associated with cannabis are generally in-between, there is no definite answer, could apply to one individual but not the next.

I'm neither for or against legalisation(possibly for de-criminalising in near future). What we can be certain of is that it is one of many things in life that carries a social stigma, with very little/to no good reason for this. I suggest you read up on Harry Anslinger and the prohibition period in the U.S. It is quite an eye-opener.

These people highlighted, from an article about homelessness (with a women in a homeless shelter):
    ...
A long-time tenant of this particular shelter explained that NYC was paying to feed us three daily meals and an evening snack. But this was not being done. A week later, boxes of food were delivered, and several boxes were taken by the staff as they left that night.

I have seen some of the best and worst of humanity since I became homeless a few years before the recession. My belongings have been stolen by other residents and workers at the shelters and even church personnel and pedestrians. One time, a shelter worker threw out the books belonging to the local library, causing me problems trying to get anything else from the library.
    ...
    http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2013/oct/13/homeless-nyc-people-you-meet

The word 'scumbags' certainly seems appropriate here.

There have also been a lot of reports/stories lately, about much more shocking stuff comparable to this, from staff in nursing homes, abusing their position to take advantage of the elderly (many who would often have a worsening mental condition).
