Ahem. I call shenanigans on her looking young because of a raw vegan diet. A raw vegan diet is not ideal or healthy in the first place*, and secondly her youth may have nothing to do with her diet and may be down to her specific genetics (besides which, people of African descent tend to age better due to thicker skin).

Actually I even call shenanigans on her even being the age she claims

*Comprehensive debuking of raw foodist nonsense

Nonsense is what the dietitians and food scientists are calling it at this moment in time. But our knowledge of what is healthy and what is not is constantly changing and a raw vegan diet seems to be working for her. I would imagine it's not so much the diet as the fact that she grows most of her own food and as such is ingesting a smaller amount of pesticides and the like which has contributed to her good health. And while her youthful appearance maybe be down to more than just her diet, she is not lying about her age. The vid shows her driver's licence and while that can be forged, she has also been married for 54 years and has grand children in their 20s.

Then again what might be working is not so much the type of diet, but the amount of calories she's taking in. High nutrient low calorie diets are the only proven way(outside of genetic manipulation) to extend longevity and health in mammals, so if she was getting all the nutrients, but in a low cal package that might explain it, but we'd be talking very low calories. Those longevity diets are under 1000 cals a day so maybe not.
Actually the evidence for low calorie/high longevity diets (in humans) is sketchy at best and I don't think it has ever been conclusively proven to be effective. The original studies, many years ago in rodents, did show enormous benefits but didn't transfer in a similar fashion when human trials were done.

Right, well I'd listen to scientists over a bunch of filthy hippies any day of the week. Even the precept of this diet, that humans are natural herbivores, is demonstrably false and goes so against all knowledge of human biology, nutrition, paleontology and archeology you'd have to be close to brain damaged to subscribe to it

As a Woman, I love the power of make up :) when I do bother with it. You can go from plain to Decent in a few minutes :)

have a look at the girl in link below, to me seems quite average looking, then Bam! the make up goes on and you have a Bombshell

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2454391/Is-wearing-make-betrayal-One-womans-dramatic-transformation-sparks-online-backlash.html

I'm not a fan of make-up and I genuinely think she looks better in the first picture.
Lengthening my eyelashes and giving my lips more definition with lip-liner/lip-stain (not even lipstick) is going to make me look better. It's not rocket science!

I can't argue with your specific case as I don't know what you look like with and without makeup. But I do wonder why men don't wear makeup if it improves appearance so much (I know some do, but I mean to the same prevalence that women do). I think it's far more of a societal norm for women than actually required to make them look better.

I'd guess youthfulness is mostly down to genes and staying out of the sun, but healthy living and a good moisturiser are bound to be factors also.

I don't wear much make-up - just enough to accentuate my eyes and lips. I don't bother with foundation, powder, lipstick, bright colours. It's possible to put on make-up in such a way as to look natural still.
I agree too much make-up looks awful though.

I guess men don't wear make-up because it makes them look feminine.

Picture comparisons like that are just daft, because in the first picture they've purposely made her look frumpy, the full Bridget Jones effect, whereas in the second picture it's not just the make up but they've done her hair, the lighting, the works! Neither pose looks any way natural either, but certainly she looks far healthier in the second picture and healthier is generally more attractive than the pasty blemish riddled face with dry, split ended hair in the first picture.

Men won't wear make-up because for most men it's considered effeminate. Women generally aren't attracted to men who wear make-up because they're supposed to look rugged (we've all seen beautiful men, David Beckham was one, but as he's aged, he's become more rugged and thankfully got rid of the sarong and hair band for a six pack, stubble and tattoos, which is probably as close to male "make-up" as you're going to get!). Then there's army camouflage and maori tattoos (both used to convey aggression rather than beautify, "war paint" if you will).

It's only in the last decade or so that male cosmetics beyond a splash of old spice and a slick of hair oil have become more mainstream, like moisturisers and concealers, but a man wearing guyliner and lippy? I don't think that's ever going to catch on in mainstream society tbh :D

The mad eyeballs on her, honestly, whatever is up with her eyes it's like she constantly has that "rabbit caught in the headlights" look about her.

No sex appeal whatsoever, again I can understand why people would consider her attractive, but iconic sex appeal?

Just put a bag over her head! Actually she would be a 2 bag situation. The first bag would be to cover her head and the second bag would be in case the first one fell off!

I know you don't fancy her but you don't really think she's that ugly surely?

Both absolute beauties. Wasn't aware the latter was a sex symbol, though I do think she's a perfect argument as to why conventional 'beauty' means little.

Liz Taylor blows both out of the water
Ava Gardner and Lana Turner were also stunningly beautiful women in their day

    As for Monica Bellucci...............!!!

In her heyday she was a great looking woman.

    Here's one; Tu fooking lisa

This woman was once voted the hottest in the world by FHM readers

I've got a student from Poland in my class who's the absolute SPIT of Scarlett (minus the massive cleavage) and has the very same voice but with a Polish accent, so you can just imagine. She's probably the most naturally stunning woman I've ever been in close proximity with.

I actually groaned when I read that :o

I would've said one paper bag would do, but duck tape her gob first because her voice is like nails on a chalkboard!

Actually, no, I wouldn't even bother with a paper bag because she's like a child in a young woman's body, the whole way she carries herself like a newborn deer, pure awkward!

She gets way too much airtime. Seen her interviewed before and she said that she has self confidence issues and that she was self conscious about her acne. Yet she still does modelling???? Inconsistent in what she says and what she does:mad:

I don't like either of them and the makeup in both photos is garish but, and I guess that's what this thread's about, I don't understand how anyone can call them anything less than pretty, never mind double paper bagging them.
