Yes, anyone can sign up for them. You just have to give a date of birth that makes you between 18 and 22. No biggy, my mum and dad is on them and they aren't 18 that is for sure!

Data speeds are about 3mb, the same as Tesco Mobile, they are actually owned by the same company as Tesco and use all the same gear.

If you PM me, I'll send you a link where you can order a SIM card for 48months and you will get €10 off the first month too (I'll also get €10 off for referring you, full disclosure, hope the mods don't mind, this is why I'm not putting up the referral link).

I just checked the Tesco Mobile website and the 10euro for 5GB is not updated, nor the 5euro for 1GB.
On the website it says 6.99 for 1GB

Will the site be updated or is it all lies

New bundles are now live. Can be purchased as either automatic 30 day recurring bundles or once-off (note: with the once-off bundles if you buy another one prior to the existing bundle expiring then it gets queued and any unused data allowance gets transferred over to the new bundle i.e. if you still have 1GB of a 5GB bundles unused if you have another bundle queued the unused 1GB gets added on to the new bundles giving you 6GB and so on).

Ohhh.. that is interesting, does that mean you could buy the 5GB bundle the first month, only use 1GB and then just buy the 1GB each month for the next 5 months. So you might end up having something like:

Month 1: 5GB (1GB used)
Month 2: 6GB (2GB used)
Month 3: 5GB (2GB used)
Month 4: 4GB (2GB used)

etc....

That could work out quiet well, on 48months at the moment, I typically use more then 1GB, but less then 5GB, so if the above is true, it could work out quiet well.

I'm not absolutely sure on that one - where you are purchasing different bundles - but I do not see why not. Its a question you should pose to them on their forum. They will give the correct answer.

I'd rather unlimited mobile over landline. I bought a gig with Tesco last week but will be switching to 48 once my credit runs out.

Its both all mobile networks and landlines with TM whereas landlines are limited to just 60 minutes with 48.

It's 20 free credit with tesco, I don't have a clubcard. Anyway 48, 10 a month will suit me fine, TM can't beat that as they don't even give you any internet.

Yeah I've been looking at the Guido and it looks pretty good.
The €3 addon for 1GB is good too

TM should have reduced their 1GB addon inline with that.

For a €10 spend 48 is better than TM
For a €15 spend TM is better than 48
For a €20 spend TM is better than 48's €20 Don

You buy addons out of your credit. Unlike 48 (or TM 30 day sim) your spend gives you credit that can be spent in different ways

€15 top up buys unlimited calls (including landlines), unlimited texts and 1gb of data. €20 top up buys all the same except 5gb of data.

Or you can choose not to buy the addons if you're only interested in making calls and then after your month of unlimited calls you still have €15 credit to spend

Have to agree.The 48 €20 plan is more than sufficient for my needs and the €10 plan is ideal for my kids,but Tesco have certainly closed the gap,will be interesting to see if the 'big players' react as they must be losing customers rapidly.
Credit to 48 months,they have really shaken up the market and saved us all a few quid.. member or not!

Yup, I really like 48 and want to see them continue to be successful.

And I don't think they have to do too much to remain competitive.

On the €20 plan they need to:
- Include unlimited landline calls

On the €15 plan they need to:
- Offer unlimited mobile and landline calls

Across all plans:
- Introduce webtexts (I've always thought these was a weakness, just for convenience).
- Cheaper rates for international calls and texts
- Data roaming as an option

I think we are very lucky to have webtexts. Its the one advantage we over UK customers. Very handy for a lot of folks here. But then of course the UK networks are offering so many cheapo plans .........:)

About 10% of the time you might get about 2 megs.
But most of the time you will be lucky to get have a meg.
Thats all over Dublin. I dont know about waterford

TM are now also updating their app to include the free webtext allowance i.e. you will be able to send 200 webtexts and 50 international texts free every month.

The apple app is up and running and the Android app will go live this evening.
