I'd love to know why this guy didn't get in to the USA.

Would he not consider ringing the American embassy to enquire about his refusal, rather than Joe

At the age of 85, you'd think Ould Mr Brennan Tommy from earlier would know that you don't need a polling card to vote at this stage. As long as your name is on the register you're in. And staff have every right to request ID.

But then he's only had 64 years since he reached voting age to find this out.

New York for 17th Birthday. Jaysus.

I think I was given a tenner for my 17th and told to spend it wisely.

He's not telling the whole story here. Shinner perhaps.

Could be a case of mistaken identity?

Is this not usually flagged when you apply for your visa online and they would stop you before you even left Dublin.

I'm guessing this fella knows EXACTLY why he was refused.....

    No visa I assume?

Of course Joe won't ask any obvious question if he had a visa or ever outstayed a previous one.

edit, crap. He makes a fool of me.

Does he share his Visa card with the whole family?

"I was never arrested in Ireland, North or South."
    Uh-huh. Careful language there.

Mystery solved..........Someone else booked his trip!......they always treat that with suspicion!

Yeah me too as I've been to Iran and Syria! Could be interesting the next time I'm in pre-clearance in Shannon!

Who does he associate with more like. Never convicted=dodgy.

    Sinner perhaps.

Aren't we all. He could also be a member of a Sinn Fein.

    Sounds very odd.

I want to hear Joe's Claire Danes anecdote!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,023 ✭✭✭Meathlass

When Joe asked him earlier if he was surprised he said 'My wife and children were surprised' - slightly suspicious.

    Something strange here.

I think the AK-47 he had in hand luggage was the final nail in the coffin

Somebody else booked the ticket. Suspicions would be raised once they noticed this.

Why would the Irish Embassy in London have anything to do with this?

More to this story than meets the eye I think.

Joe likely thinks "Homeland" is a documentary.

Fecking ECHELON nailed him for dodgy postings to Boards.

He's not telling the whole story here. Sinner perhaps.

Could be that a terrorist group copied his passport and used it in the past.
