cause he earns about €700 per video and release about 3 times a week

EDIT: I'm just after working out how much pewdiepie makes per video and its about $4500. he makes more in 10minutes of screaming like an idiot than i do in 2 months of work

True. It's probably more likely to put you off than anything else. Did you bother getting premium or going to wait and see?

Just bought the base game that includes the china rising dlc,not the full premium. Well i think i did,i bought it from some site ive never heard of on the gaming bargains thread lol:D Key sent by email day of release hopefully, was €38. There is a few guys in that thread who really know how to spot a bargain!

There is so many versions with pre order versions or limited editions etc etc etc its hard to know what to buy! So decided id just get the base game and the release dlc,did the same for battlefield 3 and worked out well.

Agreed though, the beta is making me less excited for full release, thought it would be the other way around

Ah sure why not? He always states youtube is a hobby for him and he has a job so why not spend a bit of the money hes makin from youtube on a ott rig

I would if i was him:)

I like his vids, especially now he uploads them in slightly higher than 1080p. Not many people doing that on youtube, looks great on a qnix:)

I'm too broke to understand the necessity for such minor upgrade.
If we are talking about streaming, nothing can beat small Xeon server box doing all the encoding and uploading (while being used for many other tasks like HTPC, webserver, gaming server etc).
But I guess it's the same as buying very expensive car to drive yourself to a grocery store... showing off the status :)

Ye had a few games friday gone and just thought this is not worth it!
No matter what settings I was putting on pc just wouldnt go over 50-55 fps. Weirdly it seemed to give me the same fps regardless of the settings. I was getting 50-55 fps on low and on high (with ulrra textures) so decided to give ip after that.
Im still lookin forward to full release, the beta has just tempered my excitement a little though!

Battlefield is one of the only games id pay for at release prices, everything else I wait for a sale so hopefully it is worth it

What would you be looking to get for an i3 - 2120 now? Im looking to sell it to upgrade to a quad core cpu.

Howdy. I was wondering if any of you have any experience making your own hybrid drives with an ssd and hdd.

I currently have a OCZ Agility 3 60gb ssd that I use for windows and my non game programs.

A 120gb hdd that I use as a downloads folder.

A 500gb hdd that I use for games.

A 2tb hdd that I use for general storage.

I'm almost out of space on my windows and game drive so I'm going to buy a WD caviar blue 1tb hdd for the games drive and a 120gb Samsung 840 evo for the windows + programs drive.

I was thinking of turning the 60gb ssd into a cache drive for the 1tb game drive. What kind of boost would I get from this? Is 60gb big enough? What software would I need to use?

You have a Z77 board right? Then just install Intel's RST software, and use that. It's pretty much as simple as: Click drive to speed up, click drive to speed it up, wait a few seconds, done.

It'll be pretty much what you expect; cached stuff will basically be as fast as a stand-alone SSD, and on first run, it'll only be slightly faster than a lone HDD.

Yep I have the asrock z77 pro4. Sounds simple enough. Thanks.

So as far as I can tell the R9 280X is marginally better than an overclocked 7950. For an extra 100-150 quid.

Is it just more about marketing a "new" card than actually delivering much improved hardware?

Anyone have a 4k monitor yet?

Not sure what benchmarks your looking at but at stock it just a 7970gz for $300.

Have you seen one in person? Are they actually worth it?

Can you do this with an SSD which is already installed as the system drive?
I have RST installed but I don't see the accelerate option.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,181 ✭✭✭Serephucus

As far as I know, no. You have to be using the mechanical drive as your OS drive, and have an empty SSD to cache it. I could be completely wrong though, I've never actually used RST before.

Yeah I seen a few in Tokyo, they blew my mind away. They had a selection of i7s and 680's running on 27 inch LG 4k monitors. Swung my opinion of them, I must have one.

Can you get 60fps versions yet? I don't think hdmi or dvi-d can do that res at 60fps.

Nope, not that I Know of.

Just reading about it there. Seems like you've to treat the screen as two 1920x2160 monitors. Apparently you can get 60fps by this doing this according to some of the reviews I've seen.
