If you're not badly injured yourself.
I think you may have missed my previous x 2 to this one.

Never get involved in other peoples relationships.

Only if there's physical violence involved. But what if the guy is built like a tank, it's understandable not wanting to get involved. Calling police and then stepping in I'm sure is what a lot of people would do. If you're on your own it's even harder. As has already been stated, both of them might turn on you and you might be the one who ends up on the ground in smithereens. And as OP said, both might walk off still arguing and fighting. If you want potential problems for yourself, don't get involved. Sometimes it's just not worth it.

Though what if you stop what might turn into a bad fight with her at the end of a lashing, isn't it worth it? Always a tough call. I think you did the right thing anyway fair play.

So you were much bigger than the other guy?

If he had been 6'4 and built like a heavyweight boxer would you have stepped in then?

Chatting to a mate about this today, I'd rather take a dig from a lad than see a wee girl get a dig was the conclusion I came too

You pick your battles too but generally a lad that slaps a girl around hasn't got the stones to hit a guy.

This is a major story in the US, at the moment. It's competing with the government shutdown and the young woman who was killed in the Capitol.

These bike riders terrorized a family in a SUV. The father panicked and ran over two bikers. As a result, the whole gang chased down the SUV until the car was stopped by traffic. They broke out the windows and pulled both the wife and husband out of the car. They beat the husband and slashed him with a knife. The wife was left unharmed because a man intervened. He stood in between all of the bikers and protected the man and his wife.

I applaud those who interfere. I think most of us have been trained to think about our own safety instead of the safety of those around us.

Sounds like the work of a 1% MC, Hell's Angels or Pagans probably considering the area. You don't start something with a rider wearing a patch in fairness.

My understanding that it was just a group of riders who like to ride together. They terrorize the streets. They drive on sidewalks, brake check drivers, and do other stunts on the road. I believe someone said that there were about a hundred out for this ride.

There's a whole sub culture to the US bike scene called the 1%ers who are known to cause trouble (Pagans, Outlaws, HA's, Devils Diciples, Bandidos, Vikings and more) Most of these have chapters in Ireland and continental Europe and for the most part are law abiding. In America however some clubs are the opposite, the HA's for instance are known as the 'Mafia on Wheels' in California, Oregon and Washington.

Any MCC though (non 1%) acting the bollox would be in severe trouble with their local MC 1%. This fcuk acting will be put down swiftly in the local biker community now that the story has made headlines.

It happened in New York, dont think the blokes involved were your typical Hells Angel style bikers. Seem like a pack of muppets on sports bikes/super bikes.

Yes no mention of him being slashed with a knife in the face. He had slashes on his face but that does not mean by a knife.

Considering the witness in question was a cop I doubt it was 1% types. Personally I think a lot of the patched clubs are a bit silly to be honest. While doing doorwork I encountered a few of them and I'm also familiar with a couple of 1% bikers in London whose club was in the news last year for the wrong reasons. While the fellas I met were undoubtedly sound lads, and certainly a handy bunch; I just can't take a lot of that subculture stuff seriously. I've heard of "prospects" in their mid-20s who wait outside minding bikes while the lads are boozing in the pubs. It's a bit silly to say the least. If you can't stand on your own two feet without the need to be part of a firm, or gang or whatever then I feel sorry for you.

Seriously? You're nitpicking down to that level. If you want more information, please feel free to google it. It's a big story in the US. Has been on multiple news channels and evening news shows.

I don't think it was 1% types. From what gangs I have seen in the past, most were predominately White.

The bikers involved in the NYC incident were either Black or Latino. Plus, returning to the intervening aspect of the thread, it has been reported that there were several undercover police officers involved in the ride. Not just 1.

One police officer has gotten a lawyer. Many questions as to why none of them intervened.

To add to the clusterf*ck, one of the undercover police officers is being charged with two felony charges. The charges state that he was one of the bikers kicking at the SUV.
