I was just about to say the very same.....

    :pac:

    Feck you :pac:

Am just about to send her in for a mega service, so listing out everything that has to be done.

My mechanic always finds it hilarious that I send him a list of jobs (like all filters etc) then list about 20 extra things to check/fix just in case.

I was in with him last week to arrange it and was whinging about the front suspension, and wittering on about bushes, and he was "but you're a girl, how do you know such things"

He's such a fossil. But he listens to me, and if I say something is wrong, he checks it and so far, there has always been something wrong :)

Random question, someone asked me earlier and I had no idea what the answer was

If you are an irish person selling a car and you want to sell to the UK, what do you do? Like what website do you list on?

    Autotrader I would've thought.

Would it not default to list on autotrader.ie though colm?

Also, is this a common thing to do, like, how receptive are people in the UK to buying a car from the ROI?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,291 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

Is the car in the uk? If not, wouldn't that make showing it a bit difficult?

Is there a big vrt rebate due in it?

I reckon it'd be very hard to sell on Irish plates unless its nearly new.

    More info needed really

Hmm yes I guess those factors would influence it.
It was more of a theoretical excercise than an actual question.

Is there a VRT rebate for exporting to the north? Assuming there is, surely that would be a better target market.

Yes there is a rebate, but they keep the first €500.

my car is more secure now if you know what I mean, got a few features with the Alarm too. Also noticed another little thing was stolen, 2 LED bulbs from the front lights. Total scum.

On a lighter note the shipping company want me to get a quote from a repair shop in Dublin for the damages, dont think this will cover parts but hopefully it will cover the cut seatbelts and a respray and filling the holes left from the spoiler for the boot.

Anyone here used the chipex paint system for small stone chips etc ?

It was used on a car I had before I bought it. Couple of washes later it was back to square one. If you keep on top of it then maybe it would be fine but otherwise a touch up stick and DA night work. Vectra has done this in the past with good results so might be worth a PM.

Doesn't cost much more that a paint match stick from ford in the UK.

Not using as a long term solution just until next summer on a dozen or so stone chips I want to protect from the elements

I never seem to get a motoring related break. New front calipers are being ordered.

THere appears to be a proliferation of bright pink cars in my area today!

I was kinda leaning towards more aesthetic mods than anything else really. Theres a couple of dings to get fixed i guess. Apart from getting CSLs/style 32s i cant think of anything else besides a light tint on the rear 3 windows?
    might get this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HID-Xenon-Projector-Headlight-Retrofit-Upgrade-Conversion-Kit-BMW-E46-99-05-/230897458884?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Plat_Gen%3AE46&hash=item35c28f9ec4

Pretty sure its the coilpack this time. Pain in the arse driving from Wicklow to North Dublin on 3 cylinders.

See now if your bought an ST you would merely be reduced to a ko4 turbo conversion gti (with a much nicer interior) :p

Nah. If I wanted a 20 year old Volvo engine I'd buy an 850R and get it with the right amount of power and a proper interior :P

I once did Limerick to Kildare. At least it's only a coil pack - easy to diagnose and cheap to replace.
